    Talking Accessories

    Hi All,
My son is 5 months old, and we are getting ready to explore BLS (once he is 6 months)- very excited.
I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for things to buy to help the experience?
I am looking at a highchair similar to the IKEA white ones - looks easy to clean. Anyone tried this? Do you think you need the cushions and straps (which are sold seperately)? We are in NZ so no IKEA here, just something similar.

We have tiled floors but i'm guessing a drop sheet is a good idea, do you recommend plastic / cloth - and particular size or shape?

We have a sippy cup (DS is so not impressed with the taste of water - although i suspect it tastes a bit plastic-y because its new) will keep trying that so he learns what water is, even if he doesn't drink much.

    Any other thoughts gladly received
    Kelly

I think a drop sheet would be a waste of time if you have tiles. You will have a big mess either way - you will have to clean the tiles or the drop sheet every meal time, so you might as well just clean the tiles.....

A spray bottle with vinegar/water in it for wiping down after is good, as are lots of cloth bibs/face washers. As long as you are diligent about cleaning up immediately, it won't really matter what sort of highchair you get - they all get filthy. However if you are a bit slack like me, a solid plastic or wood one might be better if you sometimes "forget" to clean up right away. Those cushioned ones are much harder to clean with all the crevises etc.
