Is this possible???!!!
Anyone that has had a successful VBAC with small age gap between kids can you please give me some helpful tips on how I can achieve a VBAC? I am about 18 weeks along and I am determined to have a VBAC but i'm scared the hospital will change their minds later on in the pregnancy or I will get cold feet towards the end.
I had 17mths between my DD1 and DS and my OB was happy for me to VBAC. I chose not to though and went another elective CS because I couldn't make up my mind about VBAC so I went with what I knew.
I had a gap of 23mths between DS and DD2 and had a successful VBA2C (after educating myself about VBAC).
My advice is to read about VBAC and birth and get educated. The more you know about VBACs the better. Hire a Doula or IM (Independant midwife) for that extra support, the knowlege they have is invaluable and you will have someone with you during labour that believes in your abillity to have a VBAC and is whole heartedly on your side.
As for the hospital changing their mind......it's not up to them. They can't tell you no. It's your body and baby so it's your decision not theirs. They might try to scare you out of having a VBAC but that's where educating yourself comes into the mix. If you know what the risks are and are comfortable with them and have excepted them then anything they say to scare you you can just shrug off because you know better.
I have read a few women's experience of having VBAC's at Frankston (from your other thread).....I think it is just pot luck on the day as to weather you have a supportive person or not. Some of the midwives there are fantastic but some aren't (My IM I used and her backup work there casually). You just have to remember it's your choice not theirs. Be firm with what you want.
