Weird throat obstruction, though nothings there... is it a PG symptom?Okay, I don't k

Okay, I don't know I'm pregnant, I'm ttc currently and about 10 days or so late, but I thought the pregnancy section would be the better place to put this.

For the past 4 days, I've had this strange feeling like I have an obstruction in my throat. It started out feeling small, like I had a cat hair or something stuck in there, but as the days have worn on it now feels like a permanent lump in my throat.

I have drunk, eaten, thrown up, all to no avail at removing said obstruction... Become convinced there is nothing removable there.

It doesn't hurt, my throat is not sore, its just irritating, because I always feel like something is stuck there. If I try to open my throat wide enough I don't feel it, I end up gagging horribly.

Has anyone ever heard of this, or not?
I don't feel like its an impending cold or flu, as every other way I feel fine, its just this random, weird throat lump. Any info greatly appreciated ladies!

I'm not sure about it so early on (if you are pg) but I've had the same feeling in my throat/chest for a couple of months now...

I don't know about the chest, but I guess, in the place, right underneath your breasts, in the middle, where your tube would be that your food goes through, I've had a bit of pain there, or an odd feeling...

It might be worth going to the doctor if it is causing you that much irritation. good luck TTC

The thing is, its not irritating, as in, painful, or causing any problems, its just mentally annoying...

Like, if something was stuck to your skin, like a piece of stickytape got stuck to your arm hair and you could feel it there every time you moved. It's like THAT kind of irritating/annoying... Though not removable.

Doctors here are overloaded, can't get an appointment until next week sometime.

I know this sounds strange but have you ever tried a relaxation technique where you lie down and completely relax in a dark room (you know like that time after a yoga class?) and imagine someone taking away whatever it is that is casuing you pain. You never know it might work. I am out of any other ideas

It would be a good idea to have some bloods taken to check your thyroid. This can give symptoms similar to those you have described.

    Good luck!

Laying down actually makes it more annoying, because I feel nauseous.... Sucky, neh?

Is it possible all of a sudden to get thyroid problems out of nowhere?
The reason I asked if it was related to pregnancy is because I have a plethora of other pregnancy symptoms and thought this could be one of them, not knowing, as I've never had a baby before...

Are you feeling stressed at all? I had a lump feeling in my throat for a long time and it was related to anxiety. Deep breathing and relaxation helped. Otherwise it could be a throat infection or thyroid problem - they don't always have to hurt to be there. I'd be getting an appointment with the doctor asap.

I'm trying to get an appointment with the doc asap... but I think I mentioned before somewhere here, mine are always heavily overbooked because they're the ONLY clinic in the vacinity that bulk bills. It'll be at least a week before I can get in.

And I don't consider myself to be stressed, I mean, usually I panic and worry and stress over everything, but I've been pretty laid back this week despite some stressful things happening around me. It's actually surprised me how mellow I've been about this stuff... But then I cry at the drop of a hat over nothing! (But I think thats hormonal, not stress related)
