Help, my 7mo is grinding his teeth constantly

My DS is just over 7 months and now has 6 teeth (the two bottom ones, his two top ones and the eye teeth either side). Over the last week or so he has started grinding his teeth, almost all of the time. Not only does is sound hideous, but I am worried that he may damage them. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if you have any tips to stop it

I agree, teeth on teeth grinding just the most appallingly awful sound!!!!! My DS is a terrible teeth grinder too and I have to do everything in my power not to make a fuss. He thinks it's hilarious when I pull a face and it just prompts him to do it more. I give him a teething rusk and he tends to grind away on that instead. Way better on the sound front. So perhaps try that. HTH

My DD1 is 4 and still grinds her teeth, especially in her sleep. DD2 started when she got teeth but stopped thankfully. Just the thought of it sends shivers up my spine. I used to use distraction like giving a toy, food, face washer or just start playing with them in an effort to stop them doing this.

BTW - Neither of my girls damaged their teeth
