I am after some advice on what sort of foods I should be avoiding for my 8 month old. We don't have any food allergies on either side of our families, but I want to make sure that I don't offer him anything that isn't deemed age appropriate. Apart from peanuts, honey, cow's milk, shellfish and egg whites - what else should I restrict in his diet?
I make a lovely healthy bolognaise sauce, but wasn't sure whether I could offer him some when we had it for dinner.. Also for another meal I was going to mix some tuna with mashed potato and creamed corn for him - but also didn't know whether he could have fish yet...
I've been doing some reading on the Internet with very conflicting views most of the time. Some sites say yes to fish, others say no. I found a site that offered a bolognaise sauce similar to mine designed for 6mths plus, but another that said no onion or garlic until 12mths...
So far he has happily eaten farex, semolina, wholemeal bread, vegemite, cheese, apple, pear, mango, nectarine, yoghurt, baby custards, milk arrowroot biscuits and a little cooked chicken with no allergies or reactions, so any advice for new foods would also be welcome
