Thoughts on First Wheels City Twin pram or something similar???

Hi All - I'm currently pg with no.2 (yay!!) and have started to think about a pram that will accommodate a baby & a toddler who will be 23 months apart. I really love the look and idea of the first wheels city twin pram (it's a side by side pram) & wondering if there is anything similar on the market as I can't find much information on this pram in regards to either reviews or who stocks them.

My biggest regret with my first pram (beema q) is that whilst I used the bassinett for the first couple of months it would have been ideal to have DD facing me until she was at least 8 months or so as didn't love being in the pram & needed to be entertained!! So I love that with this pram the kids aren't sitting on top of each other & bubs can face me and DD can face away or pretty much have whichever position they like!

So anyway any thoughts or feedback on this pram or a pram that is quite similar??

    Thanks in advance!

    Bump!

I'm interested in this pram too. You can get it at several of the online sellers and there are a couple of reviews on ProductRewiews.com.au, but would love to hear from anyone who actually has one..

    Hiya!

I was very close to purchasing this pram, (and had I been expecting twins I would have) however in the end I opted for an Adventure Buggy with the optional reclining newborn/toddler seat on top which faces Mum. The main reason I choose this pram over firstwheels is that I wanted a pram that would do everything - be great outdoors as well as at shops.
A couple of reviews that I looked at mentioned the versatility of firstwheels, but bagged the small front wheels for outdoor use. I had some issues with smaller front wheels in my original pram outdoors so this was a turn off for me- the pram had to be conducive to getting fit after a second bub! Secondly, for the pram to be ideal at the shops I needed (wanted) it to be the width of a single pram, however like you, I was really not keen on the idea of having my newborn face away from me (they are only babies for a short time - you want to see them as much as possible!), nor did I like the idea of one child sitting in front of the others view.
The Adventure buggy is great - I have the single one (which faces out only), however my 2 year old sits in there quite happily now, whilst I have my 3 month old baby up at my eye level facing me. You can even lay the reclining baby/toddler seat back when bubs nods off and it has its own rain/sun cover just like the bottom compartment etc.
Only downside is that the pram is quite high with the reclining baby/toddler seat attached, therefore if you are quite short it may not allow you much viewing capacity.
I am 5"7 so for me its a ripper combination - baby facing me, width of a single pram - great for shopping aisles, cafes etc, and superb for outdoor use. Its also versatile that when you no longer need the toddler seat attached you can remove it easily and just have the single pram.
The pram fold very flat, although is long when folded so you need a large boot - as is the case with firstwheels.
Having said all that - nothing beats having your baby in a hug-a-bub or sleepy wrap on your chest for the first few months. I found this an even easier combination, and was able to continue using my original pram for my toddler who could still face me. Babies remain much happier there than they will in any pram!

    Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for your comprehensive feedback JellyBean - very helpful! I too have looked at the ABC adventure buggy and seen a couple around but unfortuneately at 5ft 2in I'm just too short! Think I will just opt for the sling and stroller option until bubs is born & then see how much walking DD1 is doing as I have a friend with a 2 year old who walks everywhere and doesn't like the pram at all! Thanks again

    Hi girls,
i have a twin city first wheels which i have been using for the past year with my two and a half year old and one year old. It has its good points and bad points. I love that i can still now have my one year old facing me she much prefers to look at me! The seats can be changed easily too so if i have her facing me and the sun is in her eyes i can lift the seat off with her in it and turn it to face the other way which i find good. I find the hood bits very functional also as you can detach them and move them to a central position good for when they r sleeping and you want to put a wrap over them or something.I had the bassinette attachment for when she was little and the she moved up into the seat when she was about three months or so. My two and a half year old loves it aslo as they can see each other even when they are facing the opposite way, very handy as she can now feed her little sister grapes etc when we are out on a walk, lol!!! I also like that u can easily get to the storage baskets, i had a double long pram where they sit in front of each other given to me that i used for a while but it was a pain as i couldn't access the backet underneath.

Okay so it does have its bad points:
It is wide i am careful where i take it, it doesn't fit through our front door at home but i have used it at the supermarket, not aldi though it doesn't fit unfortunately but coles etc have the wider checkouts.

The front wheels can be a problem on rough terrain and for street walking if you dont have okay foot paths it can get caught on bumps as the wheels are small and it is not easy to lean back.

I still use my pram on a weekly basis on average and i would buy it again, despite the disadvantages as i found it was the only thing on the market that suited my needs.
I have a sided by side stroller that i use if i can't take my big pram and i also used a few different slings in the early months as well. I kept our single pram as well so sometimes if we r going somewhere that DD1 can walk i take the single pram.

As u can tell my garage is full of prams, i have a pram for every occcassion and venue, luckily i shopped around and got one given to me as we aren't really flush with cash buit my ultimate fav is my twin city!
    Hope this helps.

Firstwheels twin city pram is a great concept but I have had many problems with mine and I have only had it 6 months! the front wheel axels have snapped twice which requires total replacement, the back wheel axel is out of alignment, the handle frame has bent and is not fixable, and the swivel handle has locked on several occasions. It has been to the repairer twice and is there now and i have asked for my money back from TGA Ltd. I am waiting for a response.

the concept is great but the quality is terrible, and the front wheels are too small to support a side by side pram. It is such a pity. Once out of warranty I will never be able to get it fixed and i am sure the wheels particulary are going to be an ongoing problem.
