    Wish me luck

    hi ladies,

Its time for my VBAC.. Im nearly 38wks, bub head down, feeling lots of pressure on the pubic bone and the beeehind, OB says all is ready for a normal delivery now bub just has to decide its time to come out!

Id love to hear any helpful hints from those who have attempted VBAC... Ive done lots of reading etc but real stories and hints are always much better than the books..

    TIA

    Lisa!!

Good Luck!! I hope it happens for you soon

My advice is to stay at home for as long as you can!! When you think it is time to head to hospital take your time getting organised to go (unless of course you are having an uncontrolable urge to push )
Go in with the attitude of I WILL do this because other women do this every day and it's no big deal!!
Stay mobile and off the bed.
Spend a lot of time on the toilet or in the shower if they try to monitor you too much.
    And finally remember to breathe!!!

Sooooo excited My tips (and you can call me anytime to chat - even in labour ) are the following:

Believe in yourself!!! Really important that you and DH are both thinking the positive thoughts because you CAN do this.

Find a position that suits you to labour and birth your baby.

Get monitored by telemetry so you can go into the shower and move around (but still keep them *happy* )

Make a plan so DH can know where you are up to and what you are willing to do at what stage.

For me, I agreed to an epidural during transition (long story ) to get the registrar off my back so I could focus on labouring and birthing my baby. The test dose worked after DD was born Sometimes you may compromise an ideal to get what you want - your VBAC.

I actually loved the sense of achievement after DD's birth. I loved DS's labour more (DD was posterior and really quite fast!!) and I have no regrets with his c-section arrival but I also felt confident that my body could birth a baby vaginally.

You CAN do this. Make your plan. Decide what you would like to achieve, but also acknowledge that (if needed) you have considered alternative birthing choices. Here any time if you want to chat

Please send over some gentle LV's laides,

    Lis xx

As far as I know you can't have an epi coz you need to be able to feel everything.
You are the only one who would feel if your uterus started to rupture, so its best to avoid the epidural for that reason.

    Lisa
So excited for you! There is no reason you can't do this, VBAC is a just a normal birth.

Oh how exciting Lisa! My tip is to stay at home as long as you can.

I wasn't allowed to have an epi either so I coped with breathing and TENS and a bit of gas when I got to hossie.

    You can do this!!! xox

Lisa, sending lots of VBAC and positive labour vibes your way! You can do this. I keep telling myself as I plan my own VBAC that women do this all the time. Stay strong and positive.

Can't wait to read your BA.

oh my oh my Lisa can't believe your time is here!!!!!!!!!! You can do it babe.... remember your uterus is muscle working=healthy pain - focus on your buba moving down and down .... use your inner growl (thats what I did and the whole of Canberra heard me!!!).... bath -if you can??? I birthed Charlotte in the bath, posterior and over 9lbs- the bath saved me!!!! not sure of your restrictions on VBAC so please excuse my ignorance.....
awhhhhh I am super excited for you babe xxx

Oooh thanks girls, yes Clover thats the reason im not having the epidural, but im not scared Im actually getting excited. I feel that my body is ready for this and thanks Kez I will be doing the whole inner thing and visualisation, but will try to hold off this weekend as my OB is away LOL!!

My only restriction is no epidural so I am definately planning lots of time in the shower and walking around. I will ask for the telemetry monitoring to make sure im not bed bound. OB wont be there the whole time so im sure the midwives will be easily swayed to my way or the highway

Whooo hooo bring it on baby!!
