WHICH Baltic Amber teething necklace?

Okay... So I've come across three distinct types of necklace on the web... not counting the difference between the beads/chips....

I'm talking clasps...
Would like to hear from those who've got necklaces for their babies with magnetic, plastic screw (eg. Inspired by Finn) or silver parrot-and-loop (eg. Selkie Designs)... They each claim to be the safest... and claim the others are inferior... Does anyone have any experiences with any of these specifically in a situation where the safety feature was required? ie. Do they break/pull apart as advertised? Has anyone purchased one kind only to change their mind upon examining it?

I haven't had any experience with the 'safety feature' being used, but we have a plastic screw clasp and have been really happy with it.

the way I see it is the silver parrot clip would have no give in it at all so I really would steer away from that kind. The magnetic sounds good in theory, but I imagine it would be fairly easy to get it apart meaning curious little hands could fiddle, leave it undone and then the necklace drops off and gets lost. But I haven't seen one IRL so have no experience with these kind.

I've got a Selkie Designs and while I haven't had to use the safety feature, I'm quite happy with it. I can see exactly how it would work, and I think it's enough give to stop it being dangerous, without it falling off or coming to bits all the time.

My only problem is that the clasp is a little scratchy on dd's skin.

I think it is probably just personal choice.... and of course they will all claim that other brands and clasps are inferior!

Go for the type that looks nicest to you!

I'd say magnetic clasp would be safest. Inspired by Finn say that the lighter the amber, the more salicylic acid it contains, so they say they're the most effective.

Also I think to get one that isn't too big for bub. The string can stretch a bit over time, and you really don't want it to be getting caught on things - even though that's what the magnetic clasp is for, you don't want to have to test it.

I heard the same thing about the cloudy ones- cloudier the better Not that it mattered, everything was sold out except rainbow when I got mine.

I've got a magnetic clasp and a (i think) parrot clasp - frankly I'm more sure of the magnetic one releasing when it should (DS has taken it off a couple of times but it's not been lost). I will send DS to CC with his magnetic one but refuse to send the parrot clasp one because the other kids could grab it and cause problems if it doesn't break (for want of a better phrase). I will only use the other one at home or where I know he won't be able to catch stuff on it if we're out and about (i.e. places like church where there's not much for him to get into yet)

The magnetic one has been grabbed by another child and come off while at CC so I know the release thing works (the CC workers usually put it in his bag if that happens for the rest of the day - I'm okay with this).

Only problem is I need to restring the magnetic one - one of the strands broke and a few beads came off as the knots weren't large enough to stop a few beads coming off (it was knotted between each bead but... - happened at CC and they found the beads and kept them for me so I could - not so keen on sending it back overseas to get re-threaded so I'm intending to sit down and do it myself soon again - the first time I did it I left too much room between each bead so need to tighten them up)
