    Period pain????

I'm just wondering, I have a intermittent low level of pain not unlike period pain. It started tonight - no blood or discharge of any kind. I was at the movies, so now have my first truly serious case of cankles at the same time.

I've had a little bit of tapping on my uterus feeling, but this is a little different. Wonder if its just yet another symptom or the last stage of pregnancy with all that pressure.

It's far to early otherwise and doesn't feel painful enough to be the real thing.

    Any advice out there?

I had this last week and was told (several days later at my usual check up) by my GP it would have been stretching and/or BH, although I wasn't having tightenings

Are you noticing your tummy getting hard with each one?? Are they coming in reg intervals??
I'd say if they are fairy regular and you are getting tightens with them you might want to get it checked out.

I think more than likely it's just BH, your body getting ready for the real thing, which can go on for weeks and weeks, but if you're really worried it's always best to go for a check up!

    Good luck with it all.

I had this on thursday for an hour and a half - every 15 minutes. I spoke to my ob about it that day and he told me it was pre-labour.
I've had one episode since (overnight on friday) and nothing else.

Apparently it can go on for weeks.

    Thanks!

It eased overnight thank goodness. I have had the ligament stretching pain, and am well familiar with BH's (esp after a yummy warm shower). I suspect as you say, its the early stages of prelabour and everything getting ready to go. No bleeding or spotting so I am now feeling relaxed (also amazing what an average night's sleep can do - which is all I aim for these days.

I go by the belief that if it doesn't continue too long, no bleeding and bubs is still moving & shaking there is nothing to worry about.

If you do have cankles though, that's the one thing i would ask about, get your protein levels checked.

hi, sorry i don't have an answer for you but i saw this & it sounds a bit like what i am having. i am only 28 weeks & for the past 3 days now i have been getting period like pains in my lower tummy, they are constant & some back pain off & on. without feeling my belly it feels like they are tightenings every now & again but when i put my hand there it is not tight at all. the baby is moving more than usual but they are really uncomfortable & changing position doesn't help at all. does anyone know what this is, i keep feeling like i'm about to get my period & that either blood, discharge or my waters are just going to come flowing out at any minute.

mselicia - It could be BH at your early stage, but if youa re worried, go and ask a Dr, or even ring the hospital, especially if you feel ilke your waters are about to break. But if you ask your Dr or OB, they might check you out and make sure its nothing serious.

I have been getting strong BH lately, and feeling sick at the same time, which is what I experienced with DS3, every contraction in labour made me feel like i was going to be sick....and i just needed to concentrate and breathe, but thankfully they went away. My Dr thinks I may go early tho, so fingers crossed, but knowing me, i'll be overdue! lol
