    Smile Strider DLX and Newborn

    Hi,

We have a Strider DLX for our 2nd baby and after setting it up today are wondering if the seat it comes with lays flat enough for a newborn? The next question would be if not then does the new capsule for the Strider Plus attach into the DLX?

    Thanks!

    Hi Marni

I have a Strider DLX and I was under the impression that you need to buy the bassinet attachment for a newborn, which is what we did. I don't think that you can lay the seat flat enough for a newborn, but I could be wrong.

I can't help you with the second part of your question, sorry. Hopefully someone more pram-knowledgeable will pop in here.

A friend initially recommended the strider DXL to us, but at 6wks old, their baby looked really squashed in it, IMO.

At about 12 or so weeks old, they told us not to bother with the capsuleas their son was quickly outgrowing it & they needed to buy a new convertable car seat. They're also really heavy (but all the capsule/travel systems are).

    Re: Strider DLX and Newborn

I haves steelcraft cruiser which is very similar in design to the strider, I found the capsule awesome and we used it till 9kg/7 months and I had a chubba bubba, no squashy issues here. The pram seat was fine with the addition of a head support thing, not sure if one comes with the strider , I bought one at big w. It doesn't lay completely flat but was fine for us and I think the pram is rated from birth. We did mostly use the capsule as a seat in the newborn days. I plan to upgrade to strder plus with bub 2 so have personally been veryhappy with the design.

Thanks everyone! It did have a head support so maybe that will be enough. The capsule would be so easy though! I guess I better go to the baby shop and have another look at it.
