Pre-labour, spurious labour, your body preparing for the real thing, whatever you want to call it - I am talking about Braxton Hicks contractions, the back pain, the period cramps, the "down low" pressure, all that jazz!
When did it start for you?
I am curious especially for your second or later pregnancy!
With DD, I started getting BHs right at the end and didn't get back pain or period aches until I was in labour.
This time, I am getting all the above already. Is this normal???
With my first I didn't get BH at all and didn't get period like pains until I was in labour. As for the low pressure, I had that from about 32 weeks.
This time I had only noticed one day that I was having very strong BH which was about 2 weeks ago now, but besides that nothing as yet!
With my second i had the pre-labour BH's, pains etc that you mentioned from 34 weeks progressively becoming more and more intense as each week passed .... when i did got into labour it was rather short (1hr44mins to be exact).
I am currently 38w1d with bubby #3 and again i have been having BH's for a long time, they started much sooner this time and have become alot more intense the past 2-3 weeks.
I felt I got BH contrations from about 12 weeks, from about 28 weeks I got period type pains and sharp lower abdo pain and pressure on my bladder. I got regular contrations 2 hrs apart at 32 weeks, I was 1 cm dialated, labour was stopped. Waters broke at 33 weeks, now 2cm dialated, DS head could be felt on VE. Medication to stop labour was ceased, but had to be induced at 34 weeks. In addition I felt very heavily PG, unable to tie up shoe laces, get pants over feet wipe bum etc...
This time have been getting BH for past couple weeks and some mild period type pain, no cramping and feel comfortable, can still put shoes on etc...
