    Bleeding - 4 weeks

I have just discovered I am pregnant and I mean just. I have been extremely tired and have felt so sick for days and days. I have been to the doctor and he sent me for some blood tests which come back Wednesday which will now show I am pregnant. I have just done two tests today and have previously had some spotting which I now know was nothing to be concerned about. I estimate I am approximately 4-5 weeks. But I have just been to the toilet and have quite a bit of bleeding, for example something you might experience on the first day of your period. Its not super heavy but heavy enough to notice and would not consider to be spotting and be a bit concerned. About an hour before this I had a slight cramp on the right hand side of my abdomen.

Has anyone else had this kind of situation? I am a bit worried now as I havent even been to the doctor yet so I have no one to ask at this present time.

I guess there is really nothing I can do until I see the doctor on Wednesday.

    Thanks

Put your feet up and try to stay calm. There could be some implementation bleeding. If the cramping spreads across the whole lower abdomen that's not so good. and good luck for Wednesday.

Thanks, the cramping has totally gone but the bleeding has continued although not heavy and not red so maybe its just a coincidence and as you say its implementation bleeding.

    Hi Mummyanddaddy1,

How did you go? I had spotting/bleeding through all 3 pregnancies (my first 2 were m/c last year and currently pregnant 11wks.)

I was recommended rest, stop everything and put your feet up. However, I don't honestly think this would have changed the outcome for 1+2 as it was a brown spotting which fast developed into red. I did this for pregnancy 3 though just to be on the safe side.

I think everyone's case is different though.....

During this pregnancy I had spotting from 6 weeks, but it was always brown and looked like old blood. This continued on and off for several weeks and has stopped now. My GP said it could be a few things, but the one which makes sense is inplantation bleeding. Even though the embryo may have implanted a while ago, the old blood can stay inside you until it is dissloged and then comes out which is why it is a dark brown colour.

I hope this helps for anyone in a similar situation.

    best wishes

    Summer
