So we are doing BLS and all going great, DD eats everything. Sometimes she doesn't seem to eat a particular food at one meal but will next day so all pretty normal I think. She eats in general what we eat (unless we decide don't want to have tea till after she is in bed on the rare occasion) but I think DH and I don't eat that many carbs in general - is there any guidelines that work well with BLS (e.g. I don't want to think too much about it) about the ratio that a 10 month old should have. E.g. should it be 1 carb, 1 protein + vegs and fruit? We hardly ever have potato, e.g. will have meat and veges (maybe sweet potato), should I maybe give her cous cous (quick to cook!) in addition?. She is putting on weight fine, and seems to have plenty of energy although is not crawling yet (lazy like her dad I reckon DH crawled at 15 months).
I use the same portion guidelines as for us. So five servings of fruit and vegies, etc. Very vaguely, obviously! Her portion sizes are much smaller than ours, but I just try to make sure she's getting more vegies and fruits than anything else and some meat/protein. Carbs are something we tend to get plenty of, so I haven't focused on that.
