i have the vogue and love it!
Ok so I've got rid of my big pram that was taking up too much room in our car - and now I want a stroller.
I've been looking at the Maclaren Quest Sport stroller, and it looks super nice - but just wondering if anyone actually has one? Is it big? By the looks of the pics on the net it looks pretty clunky.
I want something that is basically the same size as the crappy $30 you get from target/kmart, but much higher in quality of course! It has to last through both DD's so I want it to be pretty hardwearing too.
Any thoughts?

I have a techno, the next model up but they're pretty much the same....macs are definitely a lot bigger than the target 'dolly' strollers (they just remind me of the one I had for my dolls when I was little!) but they aren't heavy maybe 8kgs with all the hoods and everything. Very sturdy, but you can't really hang things off them...bags etc, they topple very easily! I went from an emmaljunga to a mac....so much lighter and easier to steer!
I have a Bugaboo and it was taking up too much boot space for pushing a toddler so I bought a Maclaren Quest Mod in the Black/Pea Green colourway. It's fantastic. DS (almost 2) fell asleep in there last week, the recline is that good, but it's hard to access the basket underneath if it's on full recline, as is the case with most strollers I guess.
I think babies from 3 months can be in it so I'll use it with next baby too once they are out of the Bug bassinette attachment. Ours stays in the boot of our car.
Highly recommended!
oohh good thread, and will be watching this one closely, we are looking at the maclaren's too, we need something small like those 'dolly' strollers because our car boot is tiny when the back seats are up and with a baby on the way we have to have a pram to put her in, and these look like the best option, I am going to head to a baby shop and try them out with our back seats up so I can actually see how they fit, fingers crossed they do LOL
Sort of related - I'm going to be getting a double stroller when this baby comes because DD will only be 18 months and she is a bolter so I need her restrained.
Our big pram with the toddler seat takes up far too much room in our car as well, and with the new seatbelt laws being by age rather than weight DS can't be in a sash belt for another 6 months so will have to go in the 3rd row, losing more boot space.
I wanted the Maclaren but we are going for the Steelcraft instead. Mainly because of the price - it is several hundred dollars cheaper than the Maclaren ($260 vs approx $700)...and DH is tall and the Steelcraft handles are longer so he is more comfortable pushing it. We only have a cheapie Childcare single stroller at the moment from Target and it is too short for him to push. Admittedly I didn't have a real good look at the Maclaren handles because DH was all over the Steelcraft for the price and when he felt the height of the handles he was even happier.
I asked the saleslady if the extra money for the Maclaren was worth it and she said that definitely, the quality was there but there was nothing wrong with the Steelcraft. I said that this was our last baby so I didn't really care if we ran it into the ground and she said, oh definitely get the Steelcraft then.
Maclaren is prettier though!
ETA: I can definitely tell the Steelcraft is much higher quality than our cheapie Childcare, I just realised I made the Steelcraft sound like crap LOL.

I have the maclaren Quest in limited edition Lulu Guiness I LOVE YOU print its super gorgous, so beautiful to push its like a dream.
Ive had 11 count em 11 prams in the last 12 months and this is one of my fav's
Another lover of the Vogue!!!!!!!
Its great and DH likes it too he thinks its higher than the Phil and Ted so prefers to push it.
Thumbs up for the Vogue! Once I mastered how to open and close it (novice umbrella stroller user), I fell in love with it. It's great, light, sturdy and easy to use. And if you do get one, I have a spare hinge cover to give away.![]()
I have two Maclaren Quests (not the Sports model) and I LOVE them! They aren't bulky at all and are really lightweight (great for my back). They zoom around so easily and are great quality. You wouldn't regret buying one![]()
Which one is the Vogue? Haven't seen that one.
I'm limited as there is one baby shop here in launceston, so I have to go with what they have, unless I want to pay HUGE postage costs to get it from Vic.
So general consensus is that they aren't bulky? Awesome.. I may have to try and talk DH into letting me get one.![]()
Two words.
Totally Awesome.
P.S. we had a techno xt (there blows my two words!)
I have a Maclaren Quest Sport, I got it about 6 months ago and love, love, love it!!! I never use the pram anymore. It is so light and easy to push. Also very easy to fold etc. I would recommend it!
I saw this thread in passing the other night and had to go looking for it to reply
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh Mel, postmuch?? it's on page 3 or 4 of all posts by Mel and it was only yesterday
We got our Techno before we had DD she has used it almost every day since she was 5 days old. She slept in it for a few weeks, when she was in the throes of cot refusal and when we were in NZ for two weeks as she staunchly refused to sleep in the P&T portacot. It's light and compact, folds up like an umbrella stroller and you can flip it up or down while clutching bub in one hand (not sure what you do when you have three)
Our friends originally recommended it on the basis that it was small enough to take on a plane. Other friends who bought Mountain Buggies or Bugaboos ended up buying a quest or a vogue because they were sick of the pram taking up half the car (and one friend had never put her pram in the car because she couldn't figure out how to take it down)
Love it, highly highly highly recommended.
ETA It's still in great shape and will last for another bub..... if we can ever afford to have one .....
ME? Post MUCH? Noooo.. have you seen my post count lately?
Cool, I think we are definitely going to get the quest sport, the store in launceston has some in stock (biege or grey) so I think I'm going to ring up tomorrow and buy one.. hehe
