    Same names as a celebrity!

In a quandry as to whether this is too weird or not...

DH and I named DD pretty easily. In fact we had several names we could have used, we liked them all.

This new bub, however, is proving rather difficult. Its a boy and we are just stumped.

We have one name that we both like and we have been sitting on it for a few weeks, just letting it simmer away, to decide if we like it.

However I have just realised that there is a rather famous celebrity out there who has kids and her first two are named the same as our DD and our fave boy name. I don't want to say who as we are keeping DS's potential name hush hush for now.

I wonder if that is too weird, or if it would be ok?? What does everyone think?

Hard to say without knowing the name - I mean if it is Apple and Moses, then yeah, a little weird lol

But I dont have a problem with it - TBH I wouldn't know a celebrity child if I fell over it, and if it is just a name (and not Heavenly Hirani Tigerlily ) then I can't see it as a problem

    I don't think it really matters -
I think it might be weird if it was surnames as well eg Janet & Michael Jackson!
    You should be fine

No it is not Apple and Moses, Heavenly Harani, Janet and Michael or anything like that, not that iconic!!!

Mum and dad are iconic, but their kids names are normal.

Maybe it is ok... after all, it took me a few weeks to twig!

A friend of mine has an Emmi and a Max, same as JLo's Emme and Max, but hers were born before the twins.

I think I know the celebrity you are talking about?

Is it an Australian celebrity? If its what I am thinking I think the names are gorgeous and it wouldnt matter at all.

I don't think it matters a skerrick. If you like the name, then use it!

Our #1 shares a name with a celebrity (who he was not named after at all), and after he was born we found out he has the same middle name as this celebrity too! Ah well. They do sound good together.

Also, completely OT, but I googled skerrick to make sure I had the spelling right, and it seems like it's an Australian word...that's cool...we have our own word. Right, back to normal programming now!

It's not Mia and Cruz is it cos they are awesome names... lol

We have always known if we have a boy it will be Jack and a girl it would be Amelia or milly for short. However I just realised there is a clothing brand called Jack and Milly... lol

oh well if we have a boy next he will still be Jack..lol

Dont worry hun. I wont say but I don think you should worry. Whatever names you choose they will be your children's names not a celebrities.

    Who gives a rats really>
Its important that you like them. If someone else liked them that just means they have good taste too.

When DS1 was born I had people assuming I had chosen his name because a celebrity (two i think) had used it for their child. One relative even told people that I had "copied" her (the celbrity) because I was obsessed with American things.

Funny, its a German name. LOL
Plus I had no idea that this celebrity had a child let alone one withthe same name.

So I guess Im saying even if other people do make a connection, thats their issue not yours.

I say if you love the name, go for it. Celebrities fade out eventually and not many people know celebrity kids' names. (Unless it's Apple and Moses)
