OK so I was nearly ready to strangle my DF last night...

Sigh..... the story goes, I had to tell my Bridesmaids that I am Pregnant yesterday as they were planning my Hens night which involved eating from a Buffett and pre dinner drinks etc. So I told them yesterday and they were very excited for me. I then told DF once I got home from work that I had told them and so he rings his best friends and tells them and THEN he posts on FB that I (my name) can't hold it in any longer and that he is going to be a Dad and is very excited......I could have killed him

We had a very early M/C at 4 weeks 3 days and basically ever since then - we both agreed that we would keep it quite from the Outside world until at least 12 weeks. We told family at 8 weeks and then I told my best friends only yesterday and now all of bloody FB know!!

I know he is super excited but argh!!!! I feel really anxious now and am now avoiding FB Has anyone's DH / DF / DP done this to them???!

sadly I have done this to my husband. His family are big on keeping it hush hush, not finding out the sex and definately not sharing possible names. Well we had 9 miscarriages before this little miracle and I told the world at aobut 7 weeks (this one just felt different), then shared it was a girl now have told the name we have decided My DH supports all of this but his family doesn't, they are all peeved we have stolen THEIR surprise.

Sadly he can't undo what he has done. But now that everyone knows you will also be able to get support and prayers from them until you reach the 12 week mark. Which with this pregnancy i was so grateful for.

I really wanted to keep it quiet until the 12 week mark but I guess its not long to go now anyway and my friends and family have been very supportive so I guess there is nothing to be worried about. I just wish he hadn't put it on FB!
I guess he is just excited

Mrs Hendo - Stolen THEIR suprise humm OK. I'm with you, your baby - your rules in my opinion!

Hey Blondie- Congrats on the Bubs, I hope it all goes smoothly for you, and your wedding day is a hoot! Sadly there a so many people out there that ruin things, mine was my MOTHER!!!! I accidentally told them the day before our Ultrasound, (as I had a dream they found out from someone else) and I thought they would understand to wait until the next day before telling everyone. Later that day it was all over Facebook, and then everyone was posting on my wall. So I just gave in and had to write my Status as yes, we are, but early days yet. Imagine my surprise the next day when we had an Ultrasound that showed a Blighted Ovum, and we were told to wait 4 weeks to see if a Fetus develops. It didn't and we had a Miscarriage just before the next Ultrasound, but I have learned ONE valuable lesson!!! NEVER TELL ANYONE, UNDER NOOOOO CIRCUMSTANCES UNTIL 12 WEEKS!!!!!
It is sooooo hard as like you said, events that require Buffets and Alcohol will give it away anyways. But its harder to tell them bad news when it happens. Don't stress, I am sure everything will be fine, but it certainly isn't your fault, you had good reason to tell the Bridesmaids.

As for MrsHendo- Wowie, I can't believe ANYONES parents could begin to think it was their surprise to begin with. I understand they would want to surprise their friends with the announcement that they will be Grandparents, but Hooly Dooley! I would have *****SNAPPED*****

Yep, my DH did exactly that. I was uber paranoid after a M/C with first pregnancy so didn't want to tell anyone until at least 12 weeks.

At about 11 weeks I was on the phone to a friend who congratulated me on my pregnancy. When I asked how he knew, he replied that he had overhead another mutual friend that DH had told talking about it at the only place to get coffee in the building. Useless.
