This probably seems like a silly question seeing as though I didnt feel much movement from bub b4 the 20 week mark. But since then it has been CONSTANT and I mean CONSTANT!
All the time I can feel baby moving, sometimes it is quite painful as I swear bub is fully stretched out pushing his head against my back and feet up against my belly. I think bub only stops for maybe 5 mins, 3 times a day.. maybe less.. Its odd and very tiring!
Can somebody reassure me I dont have tennis balls going nuts in there? And isnt the movements meant to slow down about now? (31 weeks)
Aaahhh the joys of pregnancy! We all spend half of it willing bub to move then the other half wishing bub would go to sleep! If your doctor isn't to concerned then it is probably ok. Towards the end it will probably become more squirming then outright moving around but it doesn't stop. Believe or not you will miss it once bub is out. Just remember if you are at all concerned about it then see your care provider. Good luck!
Hi Poopie
Let me assure you that you don’t have tennis balls in there, you have a small person. And like big people small people are all different. Not feeling much movement before 20 weeks is normal. Yes many babies do reduce their movement at about 31 weeks but let’s be honest; they don’t have a calendar in there with them so they just have to guess the number of weeks that they are up to. Your baby is fine and I am sure that your baby will start to settle down soon. Just be aware that some babies even kick as they are being born, which I should imagine is a really strange feeling.
yep. i can second Alan on that one. my girl was a real wriggler non-stop. even during labour she would get the irrits with the contractions and push and kick against them in disgust lol. and then when pushing came she gave a few good kicks for good measure...came out like a pocket rocket!
Hey Poopie!! I know what you mean, but I've been feeling bub from 14weeks and it is not slowly down any. DP was laughing tonight at all the movement, and that he could feel arms and legs and hands and feet going everywhere - where bub was even playing with him
He also thinks bub will hit the ground running as it hasn't stopped moving
just be grateful that bub is still moving
My wee one rarely stopped moving and all was good. I was induced and she actually flipped and such sooo much they had to triple check she was head down pre induction. I'd be down the street and people would look at my belly quite alarmed because it looked like I had a cat squirming down my dress/top.
I was the same, i thought they were meant to slow down - mine didn't until about this week where i haven't felt the movements quite so much until the weekend where I was admitted into hospital (for something different) and the nurses and doctors kept feeling bub and stirring it up again so then it didnt' stop all night
So don't worry apparently its normal you just have an energetic little one like me
thanks everyone.. it is weird, and not being through it before makes it a tad weirder. I suppose its good to know baby is well in there. I did mention it to my midwife, however, she just laughed at me so good to know its normal!
*lol* poops... My LO is running a marathon inside my uterus. He hasn't stopped moving... but he seems to be quieter at night, which is lovely cos I can get to sleep... he's an early bird like his Mum. But during the day he doesn't stop (except for a short nap after lunch!).
They say that the pattern of being awake and alseep inside the womb is the same as what they will do when they're born... we shall see!
