    Washing your nappies?

I was just wondering what some of you lovely ladies use to wash your nappies?
I have tried a few different powders and one liquid but I am still not happy with any of them.
Also, is there anything that can be added to give the nappies a nicer smell. Sometimes after they have been washed they still have a slight smell. I wash everyday, so they are not sitting in the bucket for long.

Thanks in advance for any replies, it is very appreciated.

At the moment I use Green Care washing liquid - its got bicarb added into it, so I like the smell.. LOL

Plus I use Canestan (sp?) in every wash too.

I had this problem awhile ago. My clothesline is undercover but I now put the nappies on a clotheshorse & sit them in the sun. Don't have that wee smell anymore.
Oh & we use Amolin for all washing here.

I've got a website I can PM you with different laundry soaps for cloth diapers. It's North American, I think, so I'm not sure if all the brands will be available in Aus, but I'll send it anyways. Hope it helps!

    Thanks ladies,

I tried adding the Bicarb and that has definately helped with the smell, I am going to look out for the liquid with it already added.I always sundry the nappies but in winter they end up inside alot because sometimes they just don't dry during the day. I was wondering what you meant when you said you added Canastan? What is this?
