ergo, ergo sport or ergo organic?

Just wondering if anyone has tried the different types of ergo, and what benefits each has over the other (apart from colour).

I've had the ergo and the ergo sport so can comment on the differences there.

Ergo sport is thinner material, so was excellent in queensland for breathability.

Ergo sport is harder to put on yourself since it has thinner material, the straps don't stay in place as easy and twist as you put it on (and gives me the absolute irrits).

Ergo sport has clips on the end of the hood which are harder to put in place by yourself, whereas the standard ergo has snaps - much easier.

Ergo didn't fit on my DH - he's 6 foot 7, and even with the waist extension it didn't fit. The Ergo sport fits him with the waist extension.

Other than that.. they're the same! haha

I'm looking to swap my ergo sport with a normal ergo, just because the other one irritates me so much that I don't use it. And its such a good carrier that I hate it just sitting there.

I have the ergo sport, but I havent tried the others. I choose the sport due to lighter fabric and because it is black..(too many colour choices with the others!) pretty basic reasons really, the lady at the place I ordered it from said other than fabric, colour, and that the sport is generally a better fit for dads they are all pretty much the same.

The hood clip things are a bit of a bugger, but I also havent really needed to use them yet.

Have to say it is the BEST money I have spent!!! DP loves it as well : )

I was just looking for this exact thread! I'm wondering the difference between Ergo Organic and normal Ergo? Is it just the fabric that's the difference?

Jodi - yep, the fabric on the Ergo Organic is 100% organic cotton, the regular Ergo is poly cotton (non organic) blend...The fact of using the organic cotton is well worth the price difference IMO.

Kate - The Sport is about 20% lighter than the regular Ergo, more compact a design, and only comes in the black (so if you want colour etc the Organic or Original Ergo will be more your speed.

I have used all of them and for ease of use and space and storage etc my fav is the Sport. Hubby likes the Sport too, although having said that the Organic one s comfier for longer periods - my Sport is the "lives in the car carrier".

Pretty sure it is just different material that makes it an Organic ergo.

I am now ready to go ahead and purchase, but forget where i was gonna buy it from. Anyone know if there are any on sale at the moment, or alternatively who deliver quickly? (all keen now we are ready to go for it). Decided to go for the normal Ergo, or maybe Organic.
