AF 5 days early, heavy *heavy* bleeding, clots, and now...

(what felt like, at least) a mild contraction???

So AF rocked up 5 days early. I was not expecting it. My temps where high and then boom, bleeding. Temps have dropped severly over the past 2 days. The bleeding has been so heavy, I usually have heavy periods but this is crazy. My cramps have also been really intense, and a couple of times I have been sitting or walking around and had a shooting pain, like someone was stabbing me with a knife up my vjayjay (and bum too ). These cause me to jump and they last for about 30 secs.

Just before, I was sitting on the computer chair. I felt a particularly bad period cramp, it was slowly building the way it normally does. Then it started to get more intense and sort of reached this peak. I had to fling my back backwards and it made my head spin. Then it sort of eased off and i felt relieved, and then nauseous. I went to the bathroom and there was blood *everywhere*. I wiped about 5 or 6 times, and each time the loo paper was covered and soaked with bright red and dark red blood, and heaps of clots. Every time I leaned forwards I had a really awful pain, not just in my uterus but in my whole stomach area; like a stabbing, ripping feeling. I still feel dizzy and nauseous, still having cramps (although not so bad as that one before).

    I'm just a bit worried I guess.

gosh hun, so not cool! if ur filling a pad in an hour go to ED definetly!
i wonder what it could be?
FWIW im currently going through a m/c and once the clots came out (and they were massive ones) the bleeding slowed up and is now just a bit heavier than a normal period. but b4 that i was flooding a tampon every 2-3 hours and the blood was a deep red/purple.
Squishy hugs babe, hope it doesnt last long xxxx

    I'm so sorry you're going through a m/c hun

I have taken out the tampon (sorry to all if tmi) and i'm seeing how this pad goes over the hour. I don't know if it will do any good but thinking of poas. I did one that was bfn but that was on wednesday, so three days ago. And af *did* come very early. Ouch, I'm in so much pain and I can just feel the blood coming out as I'm sitting here

its such an awfull feeling the gush!!
i stopped using tampons once i knew it was a m/c, i was 5 days late(never late) but my poas were all negative, but the blood test came back positive.tmi, but when i took the last tampon out it was followed by a waterfall of really big clots! was horrible, better to wear a pad, that way u have full grasp of how heavy it is and any clots u do have.
grab a wheat bag or hot water bottle and some panadole...and maybe some chocolate!
i vaguely remember u mentioning clomid, does this bleeding fit in with the possibilty of being pregnant?

I haven't actually had clomid, I think I mentioned that was our next step. Have not taken anything for the last few cycles (vitex a while ago). Well I filled a pad in 40 mins...but by filled, the surface was completely covered, but if you turned it upside down there were no dark absorbed areas, kwim? I easily could have been preg, dtd before and on o, actually had o, good temps, implantation drop and cramps...but got this 'af' at 10 dpo, so now I'm wondering whether it's a chemical pregnancy AF started out heavy as this time, usually it's a few hours of spotting, sometimes even a whole day. I am about to go poas, not that I'm expecting a lot, maybe a confirmation that this is a chem. Or maybe just possible endo symptoms.

ETA Just poas, 3 days after bleeding started and was bfn. Feeling like maybe this is a chem though, it feels/looks like the one I had in July But that's the thing with chemical pregs, most of the time you never know. I guess I'll just see how the bleeding etc goes and judge from there. Thanks for your advice hun

Hi ladies. For now the bleeding seems to have eased a bit, cramps still pretty bad though. This morning when I took my tampon out (tmi) I got what you described sky, a rush of clots, not too big though (I've had ones the size of $20 bills before when m/c) probably the size of 5c pieces. Like I said, I guess there's just no real way to tell It would have been a very early loss, 10dpo. I'm just going to take it easy and see how I go. I've been to the ED with early m/c before so I've got no qualms about going again, but I think the worst of whatever *that* was is over now. Thanks ladies

Sorry you are going through this . Please go and get yourself checked out though, even if just to see a GP. I don't want to cause worry, but I had the same experience (AF came 4 days early and I had awful cramping and clots) and it turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy. I think it's always worth seeing a health provider when you are experiencing clots and cramping.

I hope it eases up for you soon .

    Oh sweety, that sounds awful!

I totally agree with Trish though. Please go and get checked out by your doc. Those symptoms are not usual.
FWIW a poas might still not come up if you are only 10dpo

Went in to a weekend clinic (where luckily my gyno works on w/e) this morning for a blood test, she said she will call with the results either tonight or tomorrow. I passed a pretty big clot earlier, even df seems convinced that I am having another chem pregnancy as it is so similar to the one I have had before. Bleeding has eased off a lot now, my doc said so long as I don't develop a fever or start bleeding loads that things will just happen naturally. I feel a bit emotionally numb atm as I didn't even know I was pg...and after 15 months ttc another m/c, no matter how early, really stings. In a way I'm glad I didn't know before I m/c, as I would be completely devistated right now.

ETA She called before, levels at 37. I have been bleeding for 3 days now, but not like last night, which is when I think the m/c happened, which would have made me around 12-13 dpo. Like I said, just a bit numb really. Thankyou all for your advice and for urging me to go see my doctor, I am glad I did.
