White Spirits - use during pregnancy safe?

Hi All,

Unable to find anything definitive on household use of white spirits, and the MSDS doesn't help much. Is it safe to use White Spirits (dry cleaning fluid) during pregnancy? Pip's managed to cover sheets & doona with lipstick, and looking up various places suggests using white spirits, I did a test on a pillowcase and before I get into totally cleaning everything thought I might check to see if it'd be bad for Quoll.

Hi All,

Just in case anybody is interested, the Monash Hospital in Melbourne has a specific poisons & pregnancy safety group. Their number is (03) 9594 2361 and will answer any questions (australia-wide).

And FWIW, white spirits / drycleaning fluid is low risk, but best practice is to use gloves and a protective clothing layer (apron etc) and use in well-ventilated area.
