    Back ache & heat bags

    Hey ladies,

Did anyone get back aches in early preg, I've got them right now, lower back and I'm scared they could become cramps or something.
I get nervous quite a bit
Is backache normal this early on?
And are heat bags, the wheat microwave ones safe to use?
    Thanks

    Hi,

back aches in early pg is quite normal. I had them for a few months, I can't remember when they actually stopped. I used to sit with a heat pack on or at least put the heat pack at the bottom of my chair so the heat would move upwards to my back, I didn't leave it on for too long as I was unsure if the heat was safe. I found they were worse when I was sitting on my computer chair and actually bought a cushion (like the ones for your dining chairs) for it, which did help a little.

    Back ache & heat bags

Babyluv, both backache and cramps are completely normal in early pregnancy. To me it feels like you are just about to get AF, sometimes I've had full blown AF pain and I've been very worried but it has all been fine. As long as you have no bleeding associated with the cramps then all is ok.

    Congrats on your pregnancy! X

Yep, very normal. Use the heat pack but keep it at or below the sacrum cause if you heat up your lower back too much it can be bad in the first few months esspecially. You don't want to heat up your core temp too much

Yup, had quite bad back ache when I was 8 weeks. Found the heat bags helped but nothing was better then having a quick lie down and rest for 15 mins.

I would never have survived my pregnancy without them!!!
Back aches are quite common. Heat should help, and warm showers are good too. Hope you start to feel better soon
