Clexane? when did you stop?

Ive been taking clexane to assist with this pg. My script ran out and my OB suggested that i dont get the repeat now that i am nearly 30 weeks,

I was wndering if you were taking clexane when did you stop taking it and was everything OK?

Until I became allergic, I was to be on it until delivery. It has a short half life so my OB felt there was no additional risk to stay on it until I went into labour. Aspirin was stopped at 38w due to the time it takes for the effect to cease.

im not taking any asprin at the moment and dont go back to my OB till 16th. i might just get the repeat. i dont think he is fussed if i continue to take it or not.

Ive only been off the clexane for two days, is it OK to stop and start? I had to stop it at 14 ish weeks for some bleeding and stopped it for a week.

I was only on 20mg and dont find that i am bleeding any more if i cut myself (finger while cooking) i did at the start however. lol. Ive also never tested positive for any clotting disorders that i know of from the IVF clinic, and still take fish oil

I think it is safe to stop around 30 weeks with medical advice. I know some women are advised to stay on it until birth due to known clotting disorders, however there becomes issues with that. If you stay on the heparin until birth some CPs do not allow labour to begin in it's own time and you then need to look at the risks associated with induction (esp being your first).

Thanks Tanya! yep dont want an induction if possible!!! I guess i wil have to go by the advise of my OB and be a good girl for once.

He was happy for me to stop at 20 weeks but we agreed on 25 then i kept going till i ran out two days ago(he also knew about this, and was OK to use it up so i didnt have any around the house) but he didnt think it would be ness to get another repeat as that is another 20 days.

Hey Lou, I came off it at 13 weeks and replaced it with low dose asprin until about 21 weeks and since then I've been off it all. I had no real reason to be on it though, just as a precaution. Can you change to low dose asprin for peace of mind?

ETA wow weekly checks? I only have them every 3 weeks ATM
