Because my children see me as being myself. All the good things, all the bad things. I am human, I am ethical, I am honest, I am trustworthy.
I am the best I can be and that is what my children will learn from me.
I hear enough of us being hard on ourselves. Now tell me, "what makes you a good mum or dad"???
Because Im dedicated![]()
.....Your turn!!!
Because my children see me as being myself. All the good things, all the bad things. I am human, I am ethical, I am honest, I am trustworthy.
I am the best I can be and that is what my children will learn from me.
Because I am raising Jazz with love, respect, and empathy. Because I am committed to leading her by my example in all aspects of life.
I'm a good mum because I believe my kids get a nice, healthy mix of everything life has to offer. 'Everything in moderation', except cuddles, that isThey get as many of those as they want, and more!
I'm a good um because I don't let them get away with everything - I love them but don't indulge their every whim.
I am a good mum because I respect DS as a person in himself, tell him I love him, and think of how my actions now affect who he will be as an adult.
I'm a good mum because tonight I spent half an hour reading three chapters of DD's first Enid Blyton book (which I have kept from my own childhood - Tales of Toyland for those who are interested)! After which I lay down to snuggle with her for five mins and she fell asleep in my arms.
they see me in the raw...happy, angry, silly, serious...all parts of a normal person.
Im a good mum too cause I cant handle seeing them upset and as J man says, I spoil them to much![]()
to him I say
I am a good mum because i manage to breastfeed DD2 (15mths now), work 3 days a week (since DD2 was 4 months of age) doing shift work (including night shift) and manage a household and parent my girls as gentley as possible. Despite the tears, my "psycho mum" rages, children that dont sleep and not sleeping with my husband ever becasue he has to sleep with DD1 every night i manage to keep my cool most of the time. My girls are happy and healthy and i truely believe that is due to me and DH being such wonderful parents and the help and total support we get from our parents.
Wow that felt good saying all that!!
Thanks for a good thread Dedicated_Mummy
Wow I need this thread today,
I am a good Mum, because I will never give up on my kids, I will never say its too hard.
I am a good Mum because I am LEARNING by my many mistakes.
I am a good Mum because I value the individuals my kids are
I am a good Mum because I would go to the ends of the Earth for my children
Come on ladies let it rip!!!!
Urgh - not after the day I had today, I've got nothin'.
I'll be back tomorrow.
Well.. My 6 yr old told me tonight that i am the best mummy ever because I cooked him cabbage for dinner!!
I think right now I am a good mum because even when I have had enough and I want to shut my self away from the world, I know that my kids need me and I some how find it in me to be their everything
im a good mum because...
i had been given the option to give up DD for adoption, but i didnt
i could have stayed with my abusive XP and had DD around that toxic environment, but i left him
i could have left this world behind, but i havent
Im a good mum because
* I try and make time for one on one time with each child everyday. Be it reading a book, building blocks, making playdough or dancing with them Im doing something with just them.
* I narrate my day until Im blue in the face in hopes DS speech issue will improve before they label us .
* I am working on my issues (my weight, PND etc) with them in mind. Im a better mum when Im active, eating well and following my mental health plan.
and last but not least...
* I can tell my twins apart BUT dont correct people who have trouble so not to embarass them
Excellent post tattoo_mama! You are a wonderful mother and an amazing role model for your beautiful girl. When things are suckful I hang onto the fact that no matter what they can be proud of me because everything I do is to benefit them (uni, gym, whatever) in some way and hopefully they'll see it too.
