    Hiccups & bubs position

We are not sure whether Phoenix is head or bum down ATM, midwife is checking again in 2 weeks. But I've been feeling lots of hiccups way down low in my pubic area so I wondered whether that indicates diaphram/bum down or head down. Anyone know or hazard a guess?

Hi Dusty!! Ooh, look at that ticker!! I still get a thrill when I see it

Bizarrely, as I type this DD is sitting on my lap and has the hiccups LOL! From memory I felt hiccups closer to where her head was when pg with her. I don't know if it's the same for everyone though!

Thanks Trish! Its flying by now And not too long until Alana's 1! Where has this year gone...

I guess I'm not sure whether a baby's hiccups in amniotic fluid come from the belly or mouth, if I knew that it would be easier to work out.

    Hiccups & bubs position

With dd1 she hiccuped everynight, she was breech so it was her bottom bouncing that I could feel. Her head was up under my ribs.

My DD had the hiccips heaps when I was pregnant, and she was head down. I felt them down lower towards where her head was HTH

yep. DS was head down and I felt the hiccups quite low down.
Have you looked at the spinning babies thread to figure out baby's position?

I've no idea what this is?

I'm still confused as to where the hiccups are coming from (perhaps it is bottom hitting low like you Black_Rose) or s/he may be head down

I may just have to wait 2 weeks to get checked again.

google spinning babies. It includes lots of info on baby positioning and how to figure out where your baby is based on the sorts of movements you feel and where. Worked well for me anyway.

Thanks for pointing me in that direction Marcellus. I'm a bit nervous about pushing around Phoenix too much although I did it this morning and found a few new bits! I may get my midwife to help me next time and ask if we can do a bit of a mapping together. I get quite confused as to where Phoenix may be or what the movement I'm experiencing is.

    wow interesting!

all my hickups are felt high in my belly but then so are most of my kicks, although ut seems to be in differednt spots every day.

You can't hurt Phoenix, trust me! DS would have been born black and blue if you could
Once you pay attention to the movements, kicks & punches you can get a really good idea of what bits are where and how your baby is moving around.
