Question Not sure what to do?

    Hi All,

I had a Pap in January of this year - it came up with Possible Low Grade Squamous Cells. My Gyno wants to do another one soon, but I am not too comfortable with the idea of something being scraped off my cervix while I'm pregnant. So, I guess I need help deciding on whether I should get it done?

I'm thinking that its not a good idea. Reasons being:

    a) they were only POSSIBLE Low Grade Cells in the First place
    b) if the cells do come up the same then I will freak out and get stressed out
    c) i'm pregnant there is nothing that they can do anyway even if the cells are there (well not that I know of??)
    d) why stress myself out unnecessairly

Bottom line, I don't want to hurt myself or the baby and I certainly don't want to jepardise my pregnancy by having someone fiddling around in there? Am I being silly about this?

Any thoughts / suggestions are appreciated...this has been playing on my mind for months now!

    xx

    Hi Blondie

I was due a pap when I fell pregnant this time around and I was told that they would not do a smear until after bubs was born as it was too risky. In saying that though, I did not have any abnormal results. I would be really surprised if they were to give you a test when pregnant and would ask for a 2nd opinion. Perhaps somebody else will respond who knows more.
