What to get a 1yr old for his birthday?

Coming from his Uncle and Aunty whats a good present for a 1 yr old?

I was thinking clothes but i think everyone else will think the same..

Any ideas?

if he has a favourite character see if you can get a winter jacket with it on it. What does the dad do for a living, maybe get him something so he can be just like daddy.

shape sorters are really good (you know the things that have a bucket and the lid has different shaped holes in it and there are shapes that fit through them), we've got one for DD's first birthday. Or some nice board books (not paper pages as they just get ripped/eaten!).
The present probably doesn't matter too much though, the wrapping paper/packaging boxes are the best bit! Lol

The best thing my DS1 got for his 1st birthday was one of those pop-up tents (his has the Wiggles on it ). He loved crawling through it and putting his toys in it, etc. We still have it 4 1/2 years later, the two boys are playing in it as I type this LOL! Years of fun! You used to be able to buy them from Big W. I think Ikea have similar ones too.

if the child doesn't live with you, then get a drum or a wooden train or wooden building blocks.

Just beware you may be threatened with retaliation by headachey parents when your bub turns 1
