Dis - I'm not used to being a hermit! With Louis and Dylan I was out and about everywhere...after Ethan I was a little more at home and this time more than ever! Luckyh I'm not having anymore or I may never leave the house again! LOL!
Bugger you've been so tired - I hope Jr settles down for you soon!
Good luck tomorrow!
I've had a cruisy day...our house was a pigsty so dh, the kids and I spent the afternoon tidying up...so very exciting! LOL! I'm so glad it's done though...it was feral...
Well I am feeling MUCH better after an absolutely fantastic night sleep. Damien took the kids all night and slept with them in their room so I could sleep by myself and my god I feel good for it! I feel like normal again!
I have a doctors appt soon (and will have to get ready in a mo!) to get results from bloods and u/s, though the u/s tech guy told me all was well with bubs when I had the u/s over a week ago. I will be going for my 12wk u/s soon, yay! I'm in two minds as to whether time is flying or dragging for me with this pg, lol! Some days I feel like 'I'm 10weeks already??' some days its like I'm only 10 weeks I feel like I should be 30!'. Damien, the kids and I went to Dubbo yesterday so I could get some mat clothes. Mine are getting a tad tight! I am huge already I look like I'm about 6mths pg! I think it's because I'm (tmi!) constipated and my tummy muscles are absolutely shot. Thye are so weak and I just can't hold it all in like I usually do! In a way I can't wiat til bub comes so I can lose weight and get fit again. I'm feeling really horrible in my skin. Though I do like how I look when pg, just that at tehm mo I just look really fat! Well fatter than normal! I was rather disappointed witht he mat clothes choices out there. Even trusty old Big W had nothing out that I normally wear. I usually get a pair of Big W jeans and a few of their mat. yoga pants, but they had NOTHING. Not even the usual plain tops they have that I live in. I tried on a pair of pants that were ok looking and they were sooo small. Lily said to me, 'mummy you're too fat for them....really really too fat!' Thanks hunny thats one way to make mummy feel like crap! Then at PP, I tried a few pairs of jeans which were absolutely HUGE but the next size down didn't fit well. All I ended up getting was 3 tops. I didn't really need tops yet, mostly pants, but there was nothing! I might send some money to my mum and see if she can get me some staples to wear for now...ah well!
Ok ladies gotta go to the docs, I hope you all have a lovely day and I will try to catch up properly later
LOL Kel- am having the same issues with clothes. They are revolting, too expensive for what you get and just plain old...crap! I have my brothers wedding in just over a week and I have got a dress off ebay so hopefully that fits and I was hoping to wear my black pants and a nice top to the church but my pants have bleech makrs on them Went to Big W and Kmart and they have bugger all! Back to the maternity shops I go!
Kris- glad you got some tidying done. I understand your posts so dont worry too much about it! My mum used to go out with all of us most of the time. I dont know how she did it! I know she had a big gap between the middle lot so it was probably managable. She had the first 4, then a 7 year gap...in which she had 31 foster kids.... and then the second 4! It was always a mamouth effort to get out of the house though! You'll be fine! Are you still running around doing extra curricular stuff with the boys? I still need to get these girls into swimming and thinking the swim centre you were at sounded like an idea!
Am just relaxing thismorning. Girls are out for 3 hours at day care. They have school holidays starting so this is my last chance to just really sit! I should be doing bookwork...thats why they go to daycare! Oh well! Not my favourite thing to do!
Hey, I made a big post yesterday and its not here!!!
Don't have time right now, the boys had me up early and as usual when that happens, I've spent too long bumming around and am now running late!!!!
Kel, glad you're feeling better. I've found some nice clothes in Target in the past. Haven't visited there this time around because this bub is due two weeks' before Jr's birthday so I am pretty much set for the right season clothes.
Dis Mel, I saw that Target had some ok stuff but it was sooo limited! There was only one rack of stuff in smaller sizes. In Sydney there was always something I could buy from somewhere, but every store here just has nothing. Either they have sold out of it all, or they just don't stock nice clothes for pg women....you know you're fat and pg and hormonal, why would you want to look nice??? I had some nice maternity stuff, but got rid of it all when Damine was so adamant about no more bubs...then he had to change his mind didn't he??!!
Mel, yep if it's nice stuff it's waaayyy too exxy or they're really small sizings. I just want something half decent, even just some trackies that will fit me for a few months. There wasn't even any of the Bonds bumps stuff at Big W, or the plain long sleeved tops or t-shirts they usually ALWAYS have in stock!! Just literally nothing that wasn't soooo ugly I couldn't face buying it! I might just have to bite the bullet and buy online. I just want to be able to try it on tho becaus the sizings are so different. I tried on a size 16 pair of mat pants at Big W which were soo small I couldn't even get the up above my hips, but tried on x-large at Pumpkin Patch, which is 16-18, and they literally fell off.
Kris, I can understand your posts too, so don't worry about your typos!
I hear ya on the house being a pig sty! I have been wanting to take some pics of the house to put on FB for people to see but the house is soooo grubby at the mo, that I just can't do it! LOL! Damien and I will be cleaning up today though! At any cost!!!!!!
AFM, feeling ok today, better that Damien isn't on night shift for a while. Night shifts just suck sooo much, it means I'm practically a singel mum for those days and I'm just not coping with it at the moment. He did 6 in a row last week and besides the fact that he never used to work 6 days in a row at all, 6 nights with kids that aren't sleeping and a very hormonal lonely mummy.... well not a good mix! And Lily is just being such a whinger and I can't cope with it. If ANYTHING doesn't go her way she will cry. No matter what it is. I just send her to her room because I can't listen to it. I tried explaining to her and being patient but she just doesn't stop. So now it's a zero tolerance for me. She goes to her room and then has to say sorry for whinging or being rude or not listening or what ever it is. Anyone got any other solutions to this, it's soooo doing my head in! Gosh, terrible twos didn't happen for us, its horrific 3's!
Things on the friend front are getting there. One of the wives of Damien's workmates called me the other day to come for morning tea. We were at Dubbo so I couldn't go, but it's a start to things! I will arrange something next week for us. She seems really lovely and has 3 kids. She has a little boy 2 days...older?? than Liam and a little girl who is just 4, so it's good that the kids have friends too. And they just came here in March so she's probably in a similar situation to me. I have also gone to playgroup twice and though I haven't really met anyone yet (it will take me time to get up the courage to introduce myself!) the kids love going and having fun.
Ok gotta goa nd help with the cleaning!! Though I'm buggered! I think a nanna nap is in order for later!
Kel, sounds like things are looking up for you! I know what you mean about building up the courage to introduce yourself - I'm really shy until I get to know people Your DH's co-workers' wife (hope I got that right!) sounds like it might be a good start!!!!
I have no clues on the whinging either. Ben missed the terrible twos, but is making up for it in the threes too!
Both of them are up early again today and because Craig was up with Jr last night, I decided to let him sleep this morning rather than have my sleep in. I'm over it already. They've been nightmares!
I went to a parent information thing at Ben's school yesterday and it was really good. The directoress went through how they teach the kids to to write and read (in that order) and it's so cool! She also showed us some work by some just-turned-five year olds and it was amazing! My nieces and nephews couldn't write or spell like that when they were 8!!! I was so impressed and it was ALL the five year olds, she didn't just pick out the smartest ones to show us. It made me so happy that we decided to scrounge around for the money to send Ben to Montessori. Lord knows what we're going to do when Jr turns three though - don't know where we'll find the money for TWO of them!
Kel- sounds like you have some good opportunities with making new friendships. All the best lovely. Good luck with the whining. I have it every now and then, even though I had her go through the terrible 2s... or more like from 18 months on!!! I saw your house on fb... looks fantastic. Its huge! Must be nice to have some space from your 2 bedroom unit!
Mel- the montessori school sounds great. What level is he in? Will you be sending him to school early or late?
Us- all good here. Girls are doing well. Its school holidays so no day care and its cold so they have just been chillin out in fromt of the tv (oops). DH has applied for a job at the desalination plant in wonthaggi... which is about 1.5 hours away from here.. If he gets it we will be moving for about 2-3 years. I hope he does get it. Its great money, regular work and will give us a kick start on the house. It will give us a break from being self employed too. I dont know when he will find out, but hopefully soonish! I have my brothers wedding this weekend too. Am looking forward to seeing a whole heap of people we grew up with... a few ex boyfriends/crushes too!
We are going well this week! Though Damien is on another 5 night (or is it 6?) stint of night shifts....alwasy seems to send me a bit batty! Ah well, such is life. But the last week has been good for all of us. The kids seem to have really settled down and therefore so have I! Having D home to help for the past few days has helped tremendously and he has been an absolute legend, doing so much around the house to help- cooking, vacuuming, washing/hanging/ folding clothes, getting up with the kids, letting me sleep and taking the kids out for a bit so I can breathe...he's just been sooo perfect! I couldn't love him more right now, lol!!
The kids are doing better, less whinging from Lily and she's sleeping through the night, yay!! Though Liam isn't yet, but most nights it's 1-2 wake ups which is a huge improvement on 5-6 a night! I think he might be weaning too. He's totally not interested in my left boob and only suckles for a few mins on the right. Plus he's not asking for it 1000 times a day anymore! He has it maybe 1-2 times a day now. I'm torn between being happy and a bit sad! But I think almost 2yrs is a pretty damn good acheivement! Especially when I had such issues with Lily!
We have had a play date with the wives of D's workmates. It was nice to get to know them a bit more, though I did feel a little left out cause I didn't know what they were talking about half the time! And we've been going to playgroup, though I'm yet to really meet anyone there, I have breifly spoken to people, but not really introduced myself.
I'm going well with the pg. Nausia and the dog tiredness are pretty much gone, though I'm still going to sleep at odd times, like sleeping in the arvo sometimes for a few hours when I can, and last night I slept from 7.30pm-8.30am, so for 13 hours!!! But obviously I must need it, lol!
Mel, Yay with your dress!! I wish I could find some stuff that fit nicely. Oh well, I am going to try the net....hopefully things will fit me!
It is nice to have the space from our unit, though it is a bit empty cause we don't have alot of furniture, lol! And the cleaning is a PITA! But it is a really nice house.
Dis Mel, how have you been feeling with you m/s, I hope it's disappeared now.
The centre you've found for Ben sounds great, though just from a teachers perspective, he doesn't HAVE to know how to write his name when he goes to school. They expect them to be able to recognise it and maybe attempt to write a few letters of their name, and recognise that print has meaning, but they don't need to know how to actually write, iykwim?
Kris, how's things? I hoep your boys and you are going well!
Kaz, how is Pip going? Has he settled a bit from going away? How are you feeling with everything? How far along are you now? You must be almost 20 weeks??
Jen, you around?? How are your boys? How are you going? I hope all is well.
Ok, must hang out some washing before it gets below freezing again tonight....!!! BRRRRRR
Kel, you sound MUCH better now! I'm glad to hear it It certainly does help when the munchkins allow you to get some rest. Today I'm feeling much better precisely because I got oodles of sleep yesterday and last night. Lord does it make a difference to the world!
Thanks for clearing up the name thing for starting school! It doesn't really matter for Ben because he'll do kinder at Montessori and then go straight into mainstream Year 1. Maybe that's what I was getting confused with? I don't know.... my brain has stopped working lately! I went to school yesterday for a board meeting and was there for three hours.... leaving the front door to our house WIDE OPEN! Not just unlocked - OPEN! Ooops! Lucky DH thought it was funny and not scary. I swear I'll forget one of the boys one day....
Mel, Ben is in Stage 1 Montessori. The closest Stage 2 to us is easily 40 mins plus away so he'll be going into mainstream schooling when he starts year 1. The directoress at his school will let me know how he's going, but I assume he'll start year one the year he turns six.
How are the school hols going? Ours started this arvo. Two and a half weeks.... I have a feeling Ben and I will be very pleased by the time school goes back, but right now I'm just happy that I don't have to get up and rush around getting them ready first thing in the morning! I'm hoping the weather stays niceish so I can get a lot of park days in. Now that I have my wonderful P&T's I love walking with the boys!
I'm feeling good today. Had a few shocking days, but got really caught up on sleep last night and it's helped out a lot Had some breakfast AND lunch today and am thinking I will have dinner tonight too! All good! I finally got around to watching New Moon yesterday (thank you Foxtel Box Office! I love not having to leave the house to 'hire' a movie!) and now want to see Eclipse. My besty said she'd come down and go on a Gold Class date with me, so now I am REALLY looking forward to that. I just hope we can work out a suitable time. Apart from that, there is NOTHING exciting happening in my life!
Great to hear about the dress Mel, hope you'll be having some pics uploaded onto FB for us to have a gander at!!!! Hope it's good news on the job!!!
Kel - you're sounding a lot better!
DG - the monteressi system sounds interesting
Us - we're 17 weeks now, have been feeling bub move and getting some BHs I think. Pip has settled somewhat, although now my Dad's visiting so he's getting lots of attention. Dad's also enforcing a bit of discipline which is good - he's got a style similar to me (wonder why?) and opposite to DH. His language is really coming on now, although I think he's watching too much teev. Trev has almost got Pip's room to a state where I can hopefully undercoat it soon, it's just waiting on architraves and cornices. I've been checking out the designs for murals on Giggle & Smile and will get Pip to choose one.
Wow Kaz- I didnt realise you were that far along. I remember when you were having your 12 week scan and it feels like yesterday! If I look nice tomorrow!!! I might just up load some pics. I havent had a chance to get my hair cut so it will just be down.... oh well!
Mel the girls are doing ok on holidays. Its a bit cold so we have spent loads of time inside and I have been really tired lately so they havent done a lot... I try and not have have the tv on all day. We get out when we can, I just rug em up! And we have play dough and do cooking and stuff! Montisorri does sound great though and if we could afford to do it we would. Hopefully dh gets his job he applied for then it would be a possibility.
Kel- I love ebay. I am a tight arse! Dont like to spend dollars on something I wont wear often! So maternity clothes are up there with me! I also get the girls play clothes off ebay too. You sound like youre doing ok with the social activities. Dont put high expectations on yourself to get to know people straight away. Just go to play group regularly and people will recognise you. It is a small town, so it may take a while to break into the circle! How would I know anyway!!!! You'll do fine! Hope the winging isnt driving you batty! I saw one of your comments on fb! Poor lovey! Its happening here too... some days are better than otheres! Liv... stop pushing bec, liv, get out of the fridge, liv put that down, liv...... and now its bec too!
Wedding tomorrow! I got the girls some matching pinafores and skivvies! Liv has pink (of course!) and Becc has purple. Olivia wants her and her sister to wear black leggins, so now to find sock and they can wear their crocks! I went to their wardrobes and realised that I dress them like me... trackies and jumpers. Only dresses I have are summer ones and its freezing! Hope to get some nice pics of them and I will pop them on fb too!
Hi ladies... just thought I would post and say hi!!! Its been busy here in my world with Olivias fabulous tantrums at dinner time and telling people she doesnt like them and wants them to go home!!! Shes ok so far today, we are snuggling watching ice age 3 again.
Had to put Becca in a toddler bed after she attempted a cot escape... Last night was horrible getting her to sleep but she slept in there from 845 til 530, then came to bed with us til about 730. Was weird hearing her stomp out saying where mama! She managed to have her day sleep without issues... but she was tired from last night.. I hope that its a relatively easy transition!
baby in my tummy is kicking alot. My belly is big. Most of you saw my fb shots of my red dress. It was a little big but didnt have time to take it in around the top half! I had to wear a cammi under it co\z it was so low. I had a great night at the wedding although all that dancing hurt my legs the next day!!!
Hi girls, just a quick one to keep the thread up the top...
Been feeling off the past couple of days. Indigestion is back after I had that sundae at the movies! You'd think it wouldn't be able to last two days straight, but it has!
Ben has been asking how the baby will come out and how it got in there. Geez! I thought I'd have a few years before I got those sort of questions! Age appropriate, truthful answers seem to have satisfied him for now but I don't think it's over....
Mel, the dress looked great!
Okay, gotta dash, DH is at the footy and I have the two monsters on my own again....
I'm around, just trying not to be online too much, lol. I find that I get really grumpy if I'm on the net too much, not to mention my house ends up like a bomb site and the kids feral, well, more feral than usual! Plus the net has been down for a few days for some reason...
Well, we are all good, though ask me in a few days time and I will probably be going bananas. Damien is going to goulburn for training for four days tomorrow. SOOO not looking forward to it. I'm not handling being on my onw well lately, and especially at night. I think it's just that I don't have a safety net of friends or family around and I'm so scared if something goes wrong. I'm up **** creek if it did...but aaannnyway! I'm trying to be positive about it. I know it's likely it will all be ok, but hey, I'm pregnant and have a vivid imagination, lol!
Pregnancy is going well. I think I am feeling baby move already, or it could just be my vivid imagination, lol! But I'm no longer sick or really tired, though I am still going to bed early, just not falling asleep in the arvo witht he kids anymore, lol! But Liam is still waking a few times every night, and Lily will wake some nights with dreams too, so still no full nights sleep here! I'm hoping baby will be a good sleeper....
Dis, sorry your still feeling yuck, it is the most horrible feeling in the world, to feel so ****ty, but know that you're not really sick, like with an illness. LOL, at Ben! He's a curious boy!! Lily has no idea about the baby actually being inside me I don't think, it's a bit abstract for her yet, but she is rather obsessed with how fat I am getting!
Mel, you did look gorgeous in your dress! I had my mum buy me some clothes so I'm hoping they fit me, I should get them in the post soon. I am getting a bit desperate!
How is Becca in her new bed? I have Liam on a mattress on the floor because he keeps falling off it, and his bed is quite high, so I just put the mattress on the floor, lol! Poor kid...
Ok gotta go do dinner, Hi to Kris, Kaz and Jen.....hope I haven't forgotten anyone... but hi again just in case!
Hey... I shouold take a leaf out of your book kel and limit my net time! I usually dont go on at night anymore, just so I can have some quiet time. DH has quit SES to spend more time at home and its been wonderful! Still waiting to hear about the job too. Rebecca is doing well in her bed so far. Shes so much easier than Olivia! Liv is still waking most nights for toilet/dreams, so its very rare for me to get a straight sleep. I got a nanna nap today so feel better.
Mel- hope things settle for you. Mylanta doublestrength is great! I have a bottle in the fridge. LOL about Ben and his curiosity. I told Liv that the baby was coming out of my vagina and she flat out said no... out of your tummy! She watched her birth dvd... no gory details but she saw that it was sore! (contractions) I just reassured her a bit!
Kel- hope youre coping well with Damien away. Also hope your mum got you some nice stuff to wear.
Better go... DH is cooking on the bbq and I am doing vegies....
Mel, that dress was gorgeous, can't believe you danced!!!! Yay on lots of movement and hoping Becca's OK in her toddler bed ...
DG - I've discovered mylanta effervescent tabs, they taste OK and seem to work. Alongside with berry quickeze chewys!!!!
Kel - yay on clothes from your mum, how are you settling in, are you getting to know any of the ladies / families in the area yet?
Well I don't know about your munchkins, but Pip's language skills have improved almost out of sight in the past 2-3 weeks. Not sure why, we haven't been doing anything out of the ordinary. So cute though, we're singing songs each night before bed, he was trying to get me to sing a tractor song tonight????
If I've any cravings, it's for ice-cream cones. Bowl of ice-cream is OK, but I just NEED cones!!!!
Hope everyone's doing OK, looked like Kris was doing a huge clean-out today, I can't believe the energy she has!
