    Diabex XR

Or the slow release version of metformin.

I was just at the pharmacy today and was advised that the 90 packs of Diabex XR are being discontinued. As of the 1st of July only 120 packs of Diabex XR will be available. Unfortunately, this means that any existing prescriptions are no longer valid and you will need to get a new one from your GP.

Thought others with PCOS taking this medication might like to know.

Is it sad that I assume anyone on metformin has PCOS? I often forget there's another use for the drug!

The pharmacist also mentioned that when you go to get your new script it would be worth reminding your GP that the pack size has changed and/or checking the number they write on the script.
