Tbh, I found I really didn't know exactly how far along I was until I had a scan. Id say this scan is just so the Dr and yourself know how far along you are

My FS does them at 6 weeks and I think it's standard at my IVF clinic. I'm going tomorrow.

I went at 7 weeks 2 days. It was a pretty good time to go. It feels like ages, but it's worth it.

IVF clinic does them at roughly 7 weeks. By that time, allowing for some natural variation in growth rates, you should see a heartbeat.
Do you need a dating scan, or is it just to see?

I had one at 6 weeks exactly, saw the heart flickering away, but it was to small to measure accurately. Had my repeat one at 8 weeks, it was fab, saw bub and heartbeat was 169 bpm.
But about 7 weeks on is good.

    Hi!

I'm having my dating scan done at what I'm pretty sure is 7wks+2. I guess they'll confirm that for me. (Monday is the big day!) Best of luck for your scan, hun.. let us know how it goes.

hi hon so happy you got a referral for an early scan!! I had a scan at the OB's office at 7 weeks and it was very reassuring but I really wanted to have one after the most common mc time which is 8 weeks. Having said that I used my GP referral to have another scan at 9 weeks which allowed me to rest a little easier and tie me over until the 12 week NT scan kwim. Good luck, can't wait to hear how it goes
