Question Why can't I drink rasberry leaf tea if I've had a CS

I was reading up on the net when to start drinking RLT. Last preg I took the tablets, I think from about 32-ish weeks. Someone told me you should drink it right through your pregnancy. Then I saw this: Can raspberry leaf tea help with labour? and it said that if you've had a CS you shouldn't drink it. Does anyone know why they would say this??

I would say because they make your contractions stronger and more efficient during labour - maybe that increases the risk of rupture.

However, my OB was fine with me drinking it when pregnant with DD1 and I drank it with DD2 as well. So I don't really believe it *blush*

I've no idea. Sounds a bit like one of those general arse-covering statements, but maybe there's a reason for it

I drank it while I was pregnant with Pie, took the tablets too, and all the doctors & midwives I spoke to were fine with it.

Might be that whoever wrote it isn't sure & like Marcellus said, is covering their butt?

I would assume they would say that to cover backsides but also on the very wrong assumption that once a c/s always a c/s so why would you want to get ready for labour IYKWIM? I took a Chinese herb mix that my acupuncturist gave me and that included herbs that did the same thing as RLT as of 36 weeks.
