getting 1st Ultrasound this afternoon- SO NERVOUS

Well, Im getting 1st early ultrasound this afternoon (am about 6wks or so) and i am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nervous! have had miscarriages/other probs in past and im sooo anxious to know all is ok!!! Can anyone help me out as to what i should be expecting to see (healthy preg) today? and what Q's i should ask???

i've not had an u/s yet but i'm at about the same stage as you so i wish you all the luck in the world! it can be nerve-wracking remembering what happened in previous pg's and its hard heading into another pregnancy without bringing all the fears from the m/c's etc.

At your stage of pregnancy I would hope you would see a heartbeat, but sometimes you can not see a heartbeat at this stage and everything be ok in a week, so please don't panic if you don't see one. As for what questions can you ask - if you can think of it, ask it. It might help if you sort out a list of questions beforehand and write them down, so you can make sure you don't miss anything.

At this stage the scan will be mainly for dating, so expect to get an EDD. This is most accurate at this stage, but remember it is only an estimate and babies can come weeks before or after the EDD. At the baby will not be very formed there will be few diagnostic tests that they can do at this stage, expect them at at 12 week scan if you get one.

I got my U/s done at 6w5d but they said I was 6w3d and I saw a HB then

Hey girls, well I got it done.. they actually think im earlier than i thought i was.. they estimated between 4-5 weeks.. so no baby or heartbeat was seen BUT they said I have a perfectly rounded sack and yolk sack! yay- thats a good start! And so now i have to wait about 2 weeks to get another one and hopefully see little beating heart!! HCG levels were at 910 on friday so im thinking im about 5 weeks with that level! p.s.... IF i WAS having twins (way out there to know now i know) would you see two yolk sacks or just the one?? hmmmm

Yup, you'd see two sacs, but sometimes one could be hiding behind the other - but usually they can pick that up at this stage (yep already).
