    Twilight

Out of sheer curiosity and thinking I'm not going to enjoy it at all, I finally decided to rent the movie and see what all the hype is about. OMG I absolutely loved it and just want to see the second. But I love reading too and so have got the Twilight book out from the Library and have started reading it. I now see the movie in my mind when I read and I sort of know what is coming next. So what did you do? Read the books first and then watch the movie or the other way around?

I read the books first. I too was curious about what all the hype was about when the books were out. I gave in and I will admit I'm hooked, and hang out for the next movie.

I've seen two of the movies and didn't like them - I found them to be a bit slow moving and didn't appreciate the special effects ... haven't read the books though. I know I'm probably the only one on the planet

I read the books first and really enjoyed them, then I watched the movies, which I thought were absolutely terrible! Those movies killed it for me. I can't stand Kristen Stewart - a cardboard box would emote more and have better screen presence, and lucky all RPatz mainly has to do is brood and look pretty because his acting leaves much to be desired. I'm going to now...

Well I LOVE it....I too read the books after the movie came out out of curiosity and became like an addict I would sneak reads whenever I could! I had the series read in 10 days...My DH thought he was a single dad in that time

Its not for everyone but I LOVE them...hence "forks" in my Avvy

I agree. Except I don't find him good looking either I liked the books, but I haven't bothered seeing past the first movie.

I saw the 1st Twilight in January this year, then the New Moon in March...but still didn't seem to get into it. But then one of my friends lent me the books in July and even though I'd seen the first 2 movies...because they were a few months ago...I'd kinda forgotten what happened. And once I'd started reading...I was hooked - it was hard to put down. I couldn't read them in a week like some of you's but managed to get through them within 8 weeks (impressive for me since I hadn't read a book since high school and that I have a toddler and baby to look after).

I think the books are soooo much better then the movies - much more detail, so even though you know whats happening next, its still a little different. But I still can't wait to see the Breaking Dawn movies....in 2011 and 2012 - it seems forever away...so for that reason I recommend you continue reading the books otherwise you'll be waiting forever to see what happens...and boy is it good!!! (well I think so anyway).

I watched the first movie when it just came out and didn't know anything about it. Loved the movie. Then I found out there were books! So naturally I had to buy them and read them at once.

Loved the books - but I didn't read Twilight - I thought it might ruin my love of the movie at first. So I just read all the others in about 2 weeks. Couldn't put them down.

Have seen the first two movies, waiting for the 3rd to come out on DVD.

I don't have time to read a book, but would like to one day read twilight. Maybe next year when Brendan is at Kindy.

I borrowed Twilight from MIL and LOVED it, so went out and bought all 4 books when Target had them on special and read them cover to cover within a week or so, THEN i watched Twilight, New Moon & Eclipse.

The books and movies are completely different but IMO neither is ever going to live up to the other. I like the books and the movies in their own respects.

I can't watch the movies. Just the promo posters are enough to put me off - could they not find a good looking Edward?? And Bella doesn't do much for me either. Bad casting.

However, I really enjoyed the books. Like a lot of the previous posters, once I started I couldn't stop until they were done.

I read the books first, and loved them all (except for the 2nd half of Breaking Dawn, which I thought was rushed and not well thought out). I love the movies too, although mainly for the eye candy. Team Jacob

I saw Twilight the movie first, enjoyed it so decided to read the book. I liked the book, but TBH it didn't grab me. Then I read New Moon and got bored half way through and ended up skipping to the end. I recently watched New Moon the movie and liked it more than the book. One of these days I will get around to reading Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, I have heard they are better than the first two books. I would like to see the movies too.

I just can't warm to Bella as a character, either in the books or in the movies. I think Kristen Stewart is perfect in the role, but all the brooding and pining over Edward just annoys me. Although I am definitely team Edward.

I ended up reading all four books in 8 days. I just couldn't put them down. I watched Twilight again and New Moon for the first time once I had finished those two books. I found the movies boring after reading the books. I don't think KS portrayed Bella well at all. I didn't get any chemistry or passion between her and Edward. I found that the movies left out too much too. I read Eclipse and BD next and loved them. I really could not put the books down.
