    Hip and groin pain

    Hey guys,
Im a little concerned because Im only 26 weeks pregnant but for the last 2 weeks I have had hip and groin pain.
Basically I thought I had pulled a muscle in my groin a couple of weeks ago while doing some of the housework but the pain is still here and getting worse.
I have it from the moment I get up - some days are worse than others, until I go to sleep at night.
When I get up from sitting sometimes and go to walk, I nearly fall. (not all the time) Its like I have absolutely no strength in my legs at all. It takes a couple of very painful steps before I feel I can walk/limp/waddle confidently. I seem to be clutching at my groin all the time when walking and if I could tie a string around my left thigh to help bring my leg through when walking I would.
Sitting and relaxing can be painful and in bed at night Im struggling to sleep and stay asleep because the pain in my hips is awful. I sleep with a pillow between my legs, cant sleep on my belly anymore, and cant lie on my back because my breathing feels restricted, so I can only lie on my hips which doesnt help. When my bladder has urine in it the pain can sometimes be worse.
The pain radiates down my inner thighs and seems to be constantly in my groin and is now becoming more and more prevalent in my hips.
This is pregnancy number 5 and I have never experienced anything at all like this in my other pregnancies.
Has anyone else suffered from this and if so 1. What is it and 2. How do I stop it??
This will more than likely be my last pregnancy and all I want to do is enjoy and savor it, but this pain is making it very hard. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks all xx

hmmm..im experiencing the same thing now (but not as bad as yours sounds ) - from what ive read up,and what my OB has told me, it could be SPD. - just google that and have a read up.

its horrible pain to have and im not even half way through yet

    Hi there,
yea I did google it, but have also learnt not to take too much credence into what it says. I did see the SPD and had a read and it very well could be that. I was thinking maybe it was baby just sitting low, but with all this room to swim in still and no rest from the pain in beginning to re think. I have a Midwife appointment next friday and thought I would discuss this with her then but was hoping for some short term relief. Lol maybe I should re google and re read. Thanks for your response

heys leekee, sounds like pelvic instability. Give your caregiver a buzz and ask for a referral to a physio who will diagnose you. Have a look at https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...-a-137611.html which has some good info.

In the meantime, do your pelvic floor exercises with a vengeance! It will make a difference. Good luck
