Thanks everyone. LOL DaintreeDream, thats a funny coincidence, we'll see if and when it decides to show itself.
Just a question for everyone, went to gp today to inform my gp about pg and he told me due to the fact that I was having a low risk pg that I could come back in 4 weeks for bt etc and then he would refer me to kilmore hospital. then he recommended i have my pap smear coz it was due a few months ago. So i had it done, and currently have some spotting and cramping?? Just want to know what other peoples opinions are?
No i read some books and it states that the cervix is highly vascularised whilst pg which can lead to spotting after an examination or pap smear. I had implantation bleeding @ 10dpo, this is totally different but thanks mizqtie. Dr said I would have some spotting, as he obviously noticed it after he did the examination, but it still made me nervous. but cramping has now died down so feeling a bit better.
Im not sure why he didnt do a bt, i think it was because he said i was low risk? whatever that means. But now i have to wait another 4 weeks for confirmation which is a bit of a pain.
I do not have any experience with pap smears in first trimester, so can't offer any info. I am glad that the cramps have settled down. With my first pregnancy, my GP gave me a referral for a blood test when I was about 5 weeks pregnant. However, with my subsequent pregnancies, I don't think I went near a GP until I was nearly in 2nd trimester.
I hope you are feeling OK now. Sorry I don't have any specific, useful advice!
bskilner im glad your dr prewarned you aboutt he spotting then before you found it, i have always been told papsmears arent harmful during the first trimester im a litte hesitant as to why drs do papsmears during pregnancy though as your hormones are going crazy majority of papsmears during pregnant come back abnormal (sorry dont want to scare you) its due to your crazy hormones but on the other hand mine come back normal so praying yours does the same
Im glad the cramping has eased for you as that can give you some comfort to know everything should be alright
RE BT - i have always had a BT done with all of my pregnancies ( i've had 3) and low risk i have no idea what he means by that as you are only early yet to realy tell if your going to be ow risk or not, i really hope everything goes well for you
