I know this thread has been done before but brands change quite a bit so tell me, what is your favourite newborn/small nappy? Fitted and covers? AIO? ect. Please share your thoughts

Not sure just yet, but I'm starting with flats, prefolds & fleece covers. Mainly coz they are so much cheaper & quicker to dry.
I have a few OSFM as well, but not sure how they'll fit a NB. Can't wait to find out! lol

I used flats and fleece covers with DS, they were easy and quick drying. I'll be using them at home again but I think I'd like to try something less bulky for going out. Not long for you now Clover, how exciting!

Spunkbutts fitteds and a cover (Bummis were my fave) I found the best fit and seal. I didn't try prefolds.
I did have a heap of small pockets and AIOs but they just can't hold that NB BF poo in.

Pre folds and covers for home. For going out and a better fit under clothes i have some newborn sized bbh all in ones. I dont think they make that size anymore, i got them really cheap on a clearance when i was pg with DS. I also just got some widdlewuns and they look lovely and trim although i havent used them yet

I am using a combination of itti bitti smalls and tuttos (the tutto's I like in particular), issy bears OSFM (which I also love) and BBH bamboo fitted (not so keen). I've used them since he was 2 weeks old (he's 5 weeks now) and thus far the only time I've had a poo leak was when I didn't do one of the itti's up properly when I first started and didn't follow the instructions. The lack of leaks is despite him having large BF poos that come out with lots of pressure behind them (it doesn't help that mum likes her cabbage and cauliflower either) - I've actually had him leak in expensive Huggies at least 3 times already. However, my bub was a big boy (4.2kgs born and only lost 60g in the first week) and has short chunky thighs. When he was a week old I placed him next to a friends baby who was a average 3 month old and they were the same size, so I don't know if my experience is anything to go by.

Thanks for the suggestions, there a few brands that I haven't checked out yet.
Does anyone use wool covers with fitteds? I never used them with DS but would like to this time, however I keep thinking if bub has an explosion wouldn't pulling down the wool cover make everything a lot messier?? Can you get wool covers that close at the front? Besides BBH wool covers.

only woolies I used were knitted by hand..eg shorties and longies and i hate getting poo explosions in them cause it means re hand washing them and lanolising them

Yeah thats probably what will end up happening here, its nice in theory but I also want it to be easy (lazy mum!!), maybe just some nice fleece covers...

I would go fleece covers, even though I am a fan of motherease rikki covers cos they have leg gussets which are awesome for containing explosions.

I was planning on a few pul covers as well. I used Tots Bots last time and hated them, they felt really plasticy (so not a real word). Are the Motherease ones soft?

I've been using a combination of prefolds and fitteds with my DD - prefolds with Booroi PUL covers and fleece covers, and fitteds (Cherubs Kiss Raphaels, Spunkybutts pre-fitteds, Tots Bots Bamboozles, Cute Tooshies) with Loveybums wool pull-up covers. So far I've only ever had two tiny leaks onto a wool cover, and it only takes a minute to wash and lanolise with foaming lanolin (and I'm super, super lazy LOL). Not sure about front snapping wool covers, but Sugarpeas covers are side-snapping and are fantastic. I use them with my DS.

Thanks Suse, I didn't think about a side snapping nappy, off to have a look now.
