Help! Can he be trying to wean??!!??

    Hi ladies

    here's the story.
My ds2 is 9 months this weekend and is having less interest in day feeds.
He has on when he gets up, which is generally good, then two durin the day, usually at 4 hr intervals. His night one is feed to sleep and can take up to two hours ( more comfort I'm thinking)
and usually one about 3 hrs after he goes to bed. He's sleeping. Max 6 hrs at a go overnight.

But his two day feeds mau be 10mns at best!

Some days he will refuse after a min of guzzling.

So is he trying to wean or is he just really efficient now? I have noticed my flow is quite fast too..... But can't always feel let down durig the afternoon feeds.....

    Thanks in advance

    Lisa

I wouldn't worry overly. They change their feeding habits all the time. 10 minutes is plenty of time to get a feed in, 1-2 minutes even. I know some women stop feeling letdown after a while too, but it doesn't mean it isn't happening.
His interest may be less at the moment - is he learning to crawl or anythign like that? - but that doesn't mean he's weaning at all. He'll be back before you know it.

Sounds pretty normal to me! I don't feel the let down any more either. DD is feeding faster and less often too now. Her first feed of a morning is about a good 20 minutes. Other feeds during the day can be 5-10 minutes tops.

yep agree with previous PP I never felt my let down much at all even in the beginning. Also DS was only ever feeding for 1 or 2 mins max at that age (he was feeding more regularly though) so it does sounds like your LO is getting more efficient and more interested in almost walking don't be surprised if all of a sudden he wants to feed more often. I would find I would think DS was weaning for a few days and then bang back to feeding heaps again.
