Gap between cot and bed

So I had the bright idea of pushing the cot up against the bed. We've even managed to fit the extra furniture in our room. But, there's a gap between them. What to do?
DH has suggested getting a piece of firm foam-type stuff cut and put that in there. Is there a better way?

We used foam like your DH suggested. I couldn't come up with a better way but subbing to see if someone else does
