Done all mine myself. With the older kids I probably put it in really early but with each one & less room in the car they go in at the last possible moment LOL
yeah i did too with my others as well but my car has leather seats with weird grooves so i was going to get my ds son booster seat installed properly too..
i dont want it too be loose cause the seats seem to still have room so move side to side even if i do it really tight..
We installed ours (one in each car) around 34 weeks and had them checked by Kidsafe over here in WA. I'm glad we did as although we had apparently done a good job, the guy tweaked a few things and also showed us a few secrets about our car seats. Was well worth the $25!
He also told us that most car seats he checks are installed incorrectly by parents. A frightening thought!
PS: when I said 'installed incorrectly', the guy was referring to the position of the straps and the headrest (where applicable) and often parents hadn't reclined the car seats into the newborn position correctly or at all for that matter. He also said the seat belt needs to be tight but the seats are meant to move a little as well.

I think we got the ambo's to do our first one, but then every one after that we have put it in ourselves. And always at the last minute. We put DD1's seat in on the day she was born, and DD2's seat in about 4 hours after her birth.. LOL
I have had my checked in the past, every so often the communtiy health center has people there to check & they have always commented on how well I do at putting them in
Got ours put in when I was 35 weeks lucky as DS came at 38 so at least DH didn't have to worry about that!!
We had ours put in by the capsule king at the local babies galore store cost around $40 and worth every cent. It's in rock had and won't be move!!
They also gave me a certificate for the RTA that it was professionally intalled.
im gonna get it installed and also get my sons booster re-installed so i know they r both safe n secure lol
i know two baby shops that do it for 30 dollars so i think i might ring up n get it booked in...
Professionally installed and the other dayt I got it turned around by the pro too. It's just not something that DH or I want to muck around with and then have the worry that we've done something incorrect.
