We have a 4ft fish tank that at the moment is NOT being used, DD1 loves all animals (as per other thread) and enjoys frogs etc.
I was wondering are there frogs your allowed to keep in a tank at home without a license?
If so are they expensive, what do you feed them etc?
The same for turtles, what is required for the tank setup, and are they expensive to keep?
I am thinking of trying to convince DP to get a small turtle/s for the girls instead of putting more fish in there, i think they would be so cute and atleast with a turtle you can take it out, let it crawl around etc.
Turtles are inexpensive around $80 and you can get them quite small. Your tank needs to have a platform your turtle can get up onto and a filter.
Turtles are great pets, I had one as a kid
Frogs you can buy from specialty pet stores, I don't think your allowed to keep native frogs except green tree frogs & you need a license, they take alot of lighting, heating etc too.
Turtles are a bit more hardy prob a better option for a pet
