    Jordan / Jordyn

We don't yet know the sex of our baby but Hubby loves the name Jordan for a boy... Problem.. one of my good friends has a 5 year old daughter names Jordyn. Jordyn will be 6 when our child is born. I have constantly told my Hubby i just can't do it as i think it would be wrong... but then i decided to just test the waters... I told my friend that Hubby loves Jordan and she said it is fine to use the name and she doesn't mind because her Jordyn is a girl and if we're using Jordan for a boy, no biggy (we would not use it for a girl). I am not sure whether she means in genuinely or is just saying it (i don't want her to be all nasty about it behind my back later - don't think she would but u never know).

Question... would any of you go ahead with the name?
The only reason i am semi considering it is because the kids would be different sexes and 6 years apart... but i am not entirely sold on the idea because of the whole friendship thing.. your thoughts and opinions would be appreciated.

I have a Jordan, but he gets Jordy (or monkey) more often than not.

It wouldnt bother me either, but like Pandora's hubby.. mine would never agree to it. If he knows ANYONE with a name I mention, its a no go. Annoying really when he comes into contact with alot of people.

If your friend says shes fine with it then take her word for it.

I have a brother Jordan, my mum picked it thinking she was having a girl but she still used it.

Yeah use it.. A name is a name anyway, no one owns it.. I can understand where you are coming from though.. But diff sexes, 6yrs apart, and you got the ok from your friend, I reckon go for it.. I like it for a boy or girl

    Ditto that.

If you like a name use it. Unless it's copyrighted then you probably shouldn't

I dont see a problem with it really.. whatever you feel in your heart is meant to be baby's name I believe, no matter who else you know who has that name!
Hello Girls!! I totally have the same issue - what is it with men and banishing baby names because they know someone who knows someone who know someone who has that name...I have just about had every name in the baby book ruled out because my hubby just knows too many people and he 'cant possibly' use the names of people he knows or has heard of before.. but then doesn't want anything unusual either! so frustrating...
