    Hip / Thigh - Shooting Pain... ???

Over the past few days I've experienced random moments where I will get a shooting pain someone in my Hip and / or Thigh... it's extremely sore and very random... I THINK it's shooting into my bottom... but not sure as it gives me a shock when it happens as I'm totally not expecting it...

so far I haven't been able to pin point certain moments or activities that cause it but i was wondering if it's pregnancy related...

    I do get that too!!
I have chiro problems in my lower back and recently my hip moved out of place a little so that's why I have been getting the shooting pains...

Maybe see a chiro or physio to see if it's a bone or muscle issue? Remember your body is relaxing more as the hormones are released too...

    Good luck!!!

I use to get this as a teenager all the time, everytime i took a step i would get a pain going from my left hip down to my foot. I havent had that particular type of pain for ages, but my hips to pop out (eg if im in bed and i roll over, sometimes my leg doesnt follow). now i get more the pain down the back of my leg, from my lower back. ive put it down to siatica, where the siatic nerve gets 'pinched', this is common during pregnancy, with the extra pressure on your pelvis and hips, to compensate your body releases a hormone called relaxin, which helps your joints and ligaments become softer and more flexible to allow room for the growing bubs

a physio would be a good person to see, they would be able to give you exercises to help you support your body, and even some tools to help (eg a tummy belt).

yep certainly sounds like siatica pain, and would be preg related.

I second that it sounds like sciatica (sp). What you describe is EXACTLY what I felt with sciatica when I was preg with P.

It sucks...but I don't know how to fix it. I was working when I had it and sitting in my office chair was agony! I just put up with it, slept with lots of pillows supporting my back, knees and belly and stretched frequently. Didn't stay in one positon during the day for too long.

However, it disapeared as soon as I gave birth...so...hopefully...you only have 5 months of it to go... :-(
