So im feeling very alone and disappointed. I have contacted numerous midwifes regarding my vba3c, whilst i know the risks etc, no one wants to call or msg me back. i don't even know what to do now. Thanks for listening.

Are you calling them for a VBA3C for a home birth or hospital birth? Are there any hospitals there that would be supportive near you? WIshing you luck hun, it is a tough road but not an impossible one.
I would first definately look into hiring a doula! And they should be able to guide you into finding the right ob, and hospital.
There is evidence to show that the amount of c/s doesn't actually increase your risk by very much at all. Keep looking and I'm sure you will find someone willing to support your choices, whilst advising what is safest for your individual situation. If you are planning to birth at a hospital I'd say your chances for support would be much greater, rather than homebirth, etc. Just because there is more help if something were to go wrong. I hope you get your VBA3C all the best of luck for your pregnancy and birth!!
I had a successful VBA2C at Twmba Hospital in 2005 and another baby at home in 2007. Did a lot of birth lobby work up until we moved to Tassie early this year. You have several choices, if you have private health cover try Selangor on Sunny Coast or John Flynn on Gold Coast. Midwives can now access Medicare (just started this month) if they have a collaborative arrangement in place with either public hospital or private obstetrician, so you could try and find a midwife who has done this or is in the process of doing so. I know a midwife in Twmba who has commenced practice in Twmba with some other local midwives and a couple from Ipswich as well. Her name is Liz Wilkes (beautifulbirths@optusnet.com.au) so I would contact her to get some advice and see if she can recommend any midwives in particular who may be able to assist you with a homebirth who live in the Brisbane area.
I think though that the private obs would not take you on and obs in public hospitals will tell you that you need to be sectioned again, though this is where you need to be stong and say that, that is not what you want and that you are going to have a vaginal birth. They will apply a lot of pressure and get you to sign an agreement, but in the end you can do as you wish during labour and there is nothing they can do about it. If attempting a VBA3C in a public hospital I would definitely take in an independent midwife and not a doula (unless she's had VBA2-3Cs herself in a hopsital or has had clients who have done so) as I believe that you really need someone with really sound medical knowledge. Hope this helps, it is all possible and best wishes.
Hi Katwa,
I am having a vba3c in May next year at Nambour General Hospital. I found a brilliant Midwife who is more than willing to support me. You need to find yourself a Midwife who believes in a womans body. Sounds weird, but it is as simple as that. I actually had a 'yes' from several midwives up here. So I find it strange that no one has called you back. Have you tried Rachel Reed? You can also try giving Mary a call at "Know your Midwife" (just google it). She is amazing and was more than willing to take me on. I may have several more names, but I will have to ask a friend who knows lots of midwives in SEQ.
My midwife works at the hospital I am going to, but she is primarily a homebirth Midwife. We have not yet approached the hospital about my decision yet, as she told me to wait until I have my first OB's appt later on in my pregnancy and she will come with me as my 'bodyguard' to let them know what I will be doing. She thankfully knows a few OB's there who are very pro vbac and she is arranging for me to see them. I had my first antenatal appt yesterday and they automatically assumed I was having another c-section. I just nodded and said sure. There is no point in getting in to it now.
Informedbirth is right, it is your body, your baby, and your decision to do whatever you want for your birth. Its the hospitals job to bombard you with all the negativity surrounding vbacs and my Midwife is helping me prepare for this. They cant make you do anything that you dont want to do.
We just need to find you a great Midwife to take with you and you will feel as empowered as I do. I am a Doula myself, but I also agree with Informedbirth, in that you need an Independent Midwife for a vba3c, but I am taking a Doula as well who is a wonderful friend of mine. PM me your details and ill see what I can do about finding you a Midwife xx
