Gifts for 2 year old girl?

I'm a little out of touch with girls,
Of course there are always dolls....

But do girls these days play with my little pony still? Two year olds?
Would that be age appropriate for a gift?

We have a birthday party. BBQ today, very unorganized but Im going to get the little girl a present this morning.

    Other ideas?

We have only just started seeing them, (Romone has a girl buddy for once )

    Thanks in advance ladies

DD is 2. She loves Dora & Spongebob. Drawing, play-dough, books, pretend play things, barbies, my little pony, dinosaurs & bouncy balls.

I let Ds do the shopping and he certainly surprised me.... For a 2 year old, he has great taste !

he picked out all by himself......

a My Little Pony, very cute with a little brush and skirt., it's Aqua ( I think he thought it was for him)
And a Beautiful Bufferfly tea set , though I didn't realize it was porcelain until we got home.....

but I asked my mum, and apparently I had my first tea set at two and I still have several pieces of it left.... Though I did break a few cups over the years, mum and I used to play with it and have a ball, she said ,and it did stay good for nearly 25 years lol

so I was so overwhelmed with the amount of people shopping today for toys etc, that we got out of their fast !
I didn't even get to check the prices,

luckily they were both rather good bargains and we now have our present wrapped and ready to go when DS wakes up......

I'm exhausted already, It would have been great to have a little more time to plan a gift but it is a last minute thing.....

Thanks. Ladies for all your ideas

DD has a porcelain tea set & it's her favourite toy (I can't believe I forgot about it, we're forever having tea parties)
