I never thought I'd want them.....

But I have been thinking about breast implants lately after weaning my boy a month and a half ago,

i have practically no breast tissue left and it's really bothering me.
I don't want a discussion on implants but I was wondering if anyone knows whether you can still breastfeed after getting them.
as I wouldn't want to jeopodise breastfeeding another baby....

Anyone , know anyone that has them and could still breastfeeding? Or has them and has b/f themselves?
    Thanks

Some people can breast feed with implants, others can't. It might have to do with how the implant is positioned (under or over the muscle etc)

I have heard of many who have been able to feed with implants.

My boobs are ruined too (thanks Blake!) They went from a B/C to an E cup and back down to a C/D. They have twice as much skin as before and are long and flat without a bra (I can almost tuck them into my pants ) I have been contemplating one day having them "done" but I plan to wait untill I've finsihed having babies because I dont want to risk not being able to breastfeed. I know that implants can effect the nipples and there would be no guarantees it wouldn't damage the ducts etc.

if your worried about how they look at the moment, have you gone and been fitted properly for a good bra? same goes for a good supportive swimsuit, maybe that way you can wait til after babies to have them done
(ps i want mine done too )

I've looked extensively into getting implants, and still plan on getting them prob after we've had our babies. I have a friend with them and she got them a few yrs before having her bub and has had no probs breastfeeding, her implants are behind the muscle, not sure if this makes a diff or not but I have read many times that implants don't affect BF.

I look like one of those women from a National Geographic magazine! If I lean forward, my boobs look like a tennis ball in a stocking I would love to get mine done, but there are serious breast cancer issues in my family, and My mum would go nuts about it, - even though there is no known link to breast cancer. I have had 2 friends successfully feed with implants.

I went and got a properly fitted bra (Elle McPherson) and it has made a world of difference.

As a matter of interest, does anyone know how much they cost?

As someone else said some can BF some can't, really depends on your own body also the size and placement on the implants.

It's something I've thought about to, I've always had decent sized boobs but after BF they feel/look like empty sacks, there's no volume to them.

How long is a piece of string.. really depends on where you have them done. Anywhere from $5,000 to $15,000.

BFing depends on what type of implants you get, the surgeon's technique, and where they are sited.

There is the danger, no matter how carefully they are done, that BFing may not work. Better to wait IMO until you're done with bubbas (time to save up and then get them done).

It's worth consulting with a plastic surgeon (if you're serious) because it's possible what you might really want is a lift and not necessarily an augmentation.

    yes.....

OP, a GF of mine had them done but specifically requested the surgeon use a technique that would give her the best chance of BFing if she needed to later. She had to go to a couple of surgeons as some will only use one technique. She BF her last little guy fine.
