    Cradle vs Bassinet!

Just wondering those who have used a cradle how long did you keep bub in for? I saw a gorgeous Boori cradle which would match my cot and I am so tempted to buy it but wonder if its a waste of money as I do have a bassinet (which I would use as well as the cradle). If it only lasted as long as the bassinet it wouldn't be that helpful unless I could use it after bub had outgrown the bassinet. The cradle is 2nd hand of ebay and looks fabulous otherwise I wouldn't bother.

I don't think you need both lol
They are good up until about the same size. We were able to keep dd in her bassinette until 6 months.
The boori ones are gorgeous tho!

hi Mildez I'm glad I didn't buy a bassinet or a cradle... We put bub in our phil & ted cocoon if he was in the lounge during the day and then we co-slept at night. the cocoon fits into his pram so some times we would wheel him around the house in that and then we could stop it wherever we wanted and he'd be asleep (kinda like a portable bassinet or cradle really) lol He's 2 months now and still fits into the cocoon which is the same size as a bassinet I guess. If you want something that rocks than I recommend getting a swing, we were given one and it's wonderful. DS loves it but we are careful not to put him in it every time it's bed time in case he ends up demanding it kwim plus the swing is great for when he's older, he'll get loads of use out of it

We were given a cradle. Our DD stayed in it till she was about 4.5 months. She could've stayed in it longer as there was still plenty of room. You wouldn't need both though.
