JacciPG - Congrats on your pregnancy! I remember at about 9 weeks my clothes started to get uncomfortably tight and I bought my first pair of maternity pants. They were just casual pants to wear around the house but for work I was still squeezing into my normal work clothes. By 12 weeks I couldn't hide the tummy any longer and it was full blown maternity clothes. Nothing else was comfortable over my belly.
I had a little belly by about 9 weeks the second time. I was actually smaller overall though so it isn't a sign that you will be huge at the end, just that your ab muscles give up earlier.
This time around I had a belly at 6 weeks and now at 12 weeks I look like I did at 20 weeks the first time. Thank goodness I am far enough along to not try to hide it anymore.
Congrats on the pregnancy.
I could tell at 7 weeks this time, but was still able to hide it. By 9 weeks we had to start telling as it was getting pretty obvious, although having 2 in there has definately made my belly bigger faster... I currently look the same as I was at 20 weeks with my DD.
I could tell my belly was getting bigger by 12-13 weeks, and have been showing enough for people to comment from 16-17 weeks. This is really early compared with my pregnancy with DS, where I wasn't showing much until 25+ weeks!
Yeah very early on this time around!! Around 11weeks it started popping but I'm 15weeks now and just the last few days it's REALLY obvious!!!! So much earlier than last time.
I didn't show to the outside world till about 16 weeks, and got away without telling work till 18 weeks with my second preg. I went to my 20 wk checkin to the hossy and was chatting to the receptionist (one of the mums at the school I worked at) and she didn't even realise! But I felt huge!
I must have been good at 'hiding' my belly with my clothing.
The first comments I started getting about pg #2 were not until 28 weeks. I had people not even notice I was pg at 34 weeks when I went to get my hair cut and eventually I brought up the subject. I remember noticing my belly had popped more around 14 weeks though. Maybe it just has to do with the clothes or way I walked. DD was up higher and I never really got the waddle like with DS and she was also pretty small when she was born and my belly went down in about 3 days. That was a very pleasant surprise after the 30 kilos I gained with DS and really had to work hard to lose. Now I'm pg again and not really showing a pg belly per se, though have definitely gained weight and my clothes seem tighter, which started at about 12 weeks. Maybe it's a boy again.
I didn't really properly show till well into 3rd trimester. I looked 6 months pg at about 8.5 months! Maternity jeans didn't really fit well this last time round, which was a shame because the first pg I didn't even have any!
