This might be a silly question regarding a Laparoscopy
Hi I had a laparoscopy and curette done Thursday just gone to remove Endometriosis and to check things out in there again. I was on CD 26 so kind of expected AF to arrive around the same time..I only had a teeny tiny bit of spotting for a couple of days but nothing significant itms.
Anyway I guess what I'm asking is would the lap have removed all my lining and so on so I wouldn't get AF for another 28 days or so or should I still expect AF to show up sometime in the next few days? I've had a lap before but it was a few years back and can't remember what the go was back then.
Yeah, the lap and D&C resets your clock so to speak so don't expect it for a while as your body will need to build up the lining again etc. How is your recovery going in general?
It didn't with me actually - I had a D&C too and expected to wait a whole month, but two weeks later I got my period as normal. I suppose your period is regulated by ovulation and in my case I was ovulating.
Just something my gyno forgot to mention - the first period after a lap can be pretty painful as everything is still quite raw.
Yeah, having a lap really messed with my cycles. I can't really remember what the timing was but I know that it was around 2 weeks after the lap that I got my period. Not sure what day of my cycle the lap was though.
Thanks for your replies..I'm actually hoping that we end up with a very very sticky bub after this lap after our history so am really not wanting to see AF for a very long time
Tril I'm doing ok..I had it done Thursday last week and had a few very painful days but that was mainly the shoulder tip pain from the carbon dioxide trying to escape and my tummy has been a little tender and slightly bruised. I went back to work on Monday(swimming teacher) and I put a waterproof dressing over my cuts but they got stuck to my glue (not stitches) that my DR used to put me back together so to speak so the glue has come away a little early but its all looking ok today.
I just made sure I wasn't trying to be a "hero" and made sure I kept up the pain relief for a few days too but that has all been stopped now.
