Bubs head is 4/5, I'm confused please help?

Hi Everyone,

Had my Ob app this morning and found out bubs head is 4/5 engaged, can someone please explain this to me as i'm confused.
Getting lot's of sharp cervix pains and Ob said it was bubs head grinding on my cervix.
Does 5/5 mean fully engaged or 0/5 mean fully engaged?

4/5 means you still have a way to go yet. 0/5 means in postion, engines started and ready to make an arrival!

It's the amount above the brim - so only 1/5 in the pelvis at this point, but you're on your way

Bub is definitely beginning to work out how to make an exit, but do realise that bub could go up and down a little too. We were engaged and then not engaged right towards the end, and it made me a little disheartened when I'd hear she'd moved back up after being down! But never fear, she stayed down at one stage and ended up coming out

Sounds promising - also nice to know exactly what 4/5 means now too lol I was told DS was at 4/5 at 28wks, and he still didn't want to come out when I was induced at 41+3 because of his boofa head lol
