Has anyone ever ordered a turkey from Lenards?
I am thinking of ordering my christmas turkey this year from lenards. Has anyone ever ordered one from there before and was it any good?

A few years back we ordered a turkey roll, and it was delicious, but never an actual turkey. I would hazard a guess that it would be worth it?

They don't have the prices in thier catalogue unfortunately but woolies here had 5kg frozen turkeys for $50, and if I can get a fresh, ready stuffed one for around the same price I think i will go for it. Thanks for your help everyone!

We ordered a whole turkey this year... $11.49p/kg and we got about 3kg turkey? It's fresh, not frozen or cooked and we left it unstuffed cause my mum will make her stuffing... They are meant to be good!

Haha... I would have too but my mum wanted to make the stuffing..
She is an amazing cook n now a qualified chef so why not have her make it! Haha

I was flipping through my local paper and among the other xmas meat monstrosities found this one, for only $150:
A turducken, but with the added extra of minced pork and veal between each layer.
DH saw one that was like a turducken but with a goose and a quail added.

Yep - mondo did the goose and quail one but it was an Applecross butcher that did the added pork and veal.
I can't stop laughing at the HUGE amount of xmas butcher ads - all trying to out-turducken the other...

I hate to tell you but they are frozen. They are fresh and frozen ie. they have them stored frozen and bring them out to defrost. This has happened to me 3 times now from Lenards and to a friend recently when she specifically asked for a fresh Turkey, they seem to think that fresh means killed recently not stored for long periods or something.
We have been trying to organise a Turducken for about 10 years... it's still in the making but we want to do it ourselves from scratch.
